MONDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 5/19/97

Hey guys,

Just a couple of reminders for everyone.  Please remember to 
visit the Web site for BARD CONTEST 2 - the second NetForum bard
contest our fellow Xenite Iapetus has generously volunteered to 
organize.  Iapetus needs for all of us to make known how we would 
prefer the contest to work, vote on possible topics, prices,
etc.  Many EXCELLENT stories were written for the last contest so
it behooves us all to help in this effort.  The URL is

GENERAL FICTION:

THE FOURTH DAY (by JayBird) Nicely written, short story that has
a blind Xena being tempted by Ares as she tries to adjust to the
possibility of remaining sightless for life. [Originally posted

LOVE AND WAR (by Storygal) A short, sweet vignette set during the 
events in THE PRICE, the night prior to Xena's battle with the

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

A TIME FOR VENGEANCE (by sHaYcH) This new story is simply put -
a rollercoaster ride!  Just when you think life is going well 
for our heroines, things turn nasty.  When they do, don't spend 
too much time getting depressed though because soon things are 
perfectly fine.  Of course, this only will last a little while 
before all Hell brakes loose again!  Set right after the episode 
ULYSSES, this story has Xena and Gabrielle fighting Poseidon's 
continued wrath while on their voyage back home.  The involvement 
of the Sea god prompts other Olympians to also enter the game 
until suddenly the warrior and her bard become mere pawns in a 
deadly competition - their future happiness resting in the hands of 
an unlikely hero. Well-written and lots of FUN!

THE ENDLESS ROAD (by Themis) Chapter 2 of this sequel to A TWIST
OF FATE is now available.  While adjusting to the new depth in 
their relationship, Xena and Gabrielle are faced with dangers from

A XENA FOR THE 90'S (by JayBird) A funny little skit that looks
at what Xena and the Gabster would be like if they were our
contemporaries.  Think Xena as a RENEGADE! [Originally posted on

XENA UNBOUND (by Lisa Jain Thompson) This short little story told
from Gabby's perspective as she works on seducing the Warrior 
Princess is well-written but what I would refer to as an acquired 
taste.  You may find yourself squirming for DAYS after the ending
here or doing a simple hmmmmm...very interesting. ;-)

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with 
the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add 
a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, 
depiciting them as more than just friends.
