SUNDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 6/1/97

Hey guys,

Boy we have quite a selection tonight - stunners, tear-jerkers 
and light comedies.  Something for everyone!

GENERAL FICTION:

GUARDIAN OF THE PEOPLE by Whattawoman
Whattawoman's tale comes to a STUNNING conclusion at last.  This
dark, very well-written story has Xena decisiding that she must 
push Gabrielle away for the bard's own good.  In so doing, however, 
she suddenly discovers she may have left the bard right in the 
middle of a deadly danger - a danger that may ultimately result
in Xenas greatest fears becoming reality.  This is a must-read for
fans of the bard.  Previously reviewed

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

FINAL REST by Kelly and Darkone
Rejoice Mel/Janice fans!!!  The archeologist and her Southern 
aristocrat are back in this tale which has the two trying to 
return the last remains of Xena and Gabrielle to their final 
resting place.  The Warrior Princess and her bard are featured
in this story as well - in a tale recounting their final days
which I must warn you warrants a MAJOR, MAJOR KLEENEX ALERT!!
This story-within-a-story is heart-wrenching but beautiful,
reaffirming and unforgettable.  A very nice read!

OBLIVION by Roc-it Scientist
With Joxer in it this story is sometimes painful to read, but it
is also VERY clever, VERY sweet, funny and just a real delight.
It is certainly a different type of first-time story, that has
Xena and the Gabster just discovering their feelings for one 
another when Joxer the Mighty comes along to delay matters for
a while.  Warrior and bard soon find themselves spending time 
with Joxer's family, learning about the warrior-wannabe while 
they are trying to learn new things about themselves too.  Cute!

BLOOD INNOCENCE by Danae
Callisto is back in this beautifully written story told from the 
perspective of an innocent river nymph, who must watch helplessly 
as the insane goddess exacts a terrible vengeance on Xena and 
Gabrielle.  Callisto's plan will leave the Warrior Princess a 
shell of her former self but the goddess is too blind with hatred
to see what becomes very plain to the river nymph - that the love
between warrior and bard is strong enough to transcend even the 
greatest of evils.  Get the old heart ready for this one because
it's gut-wrenching.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with 
the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add 
a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, 
depicting them as more than just friends.
