TUESDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 6/10/97

Hi guys!

Tonight we have a new addition to the list of XWP Fan Fiction sites,
Visitor's own A LAND IN TURMOIL.  For those of you who don't know
Visitor (knew to the Xenaverse huh?) - he is one of our most 
respected Xenites and author of such excellent stories like THE PLAGUE 
and LIFETIMES.  This new site features Visitor's own works and 
already has some new stories, two of which I'm listing below.  The

HOME FIRES by Wishes
In a departure for Wishes, she brings us a wonderfully suspenseful
horror story that has Xena and Gabrielle helping villagers fight
a deadly new enemy - a growing evil in the shape of humans that has 
been around for time immemorial and will likely outlive the Warrior 
and Bard themselves.  Nicely written.  Particularly recommended for 
fans of the horror genre.

BITTER FRUIT by Visitor
After eating an apple meant for Xena, Gabrielle suddenly finds 
herself a different woman - agressive, full of hatred, and determined
to destroy anyone who stands in the way of what she wants - even
a former friend.

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT by Visitor
"An awefully big adventure" with a cast of thousands!  Visitor has 
lots of favorite characters from the series in this mysterious tale
which in its opening chapters has everyone involved in their own
separate adventures and Gabrielle wondering at the sudden darkness
in Xena's eyes...

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

ORIGINS by M. Parnell
Chapters 18-22 are now available.  This story is ALREADY the epic
to end all epics of Xena fan fic - unlike anything you have ever 
read and an absolute *MUST* for every Xenite reader out there. This is 
writing at ITS BEST! The story has Xena searching for the truth about 
her father, confronting, with Gabrielle's help, some very painful 
memories from her past, and then becoming embroilled in a series 
of conspiracies that will threaten everything she holds dear and 
perhaps, finally tear her away from the one thing that has kept her
grounded for so long - the little bard from Potidaea.  In these 
latest chapters, unable to trust Gabrielle after the bard's apparent
betrayal, Xena leaves her behind, determined to forget her former
companion as she goes in search for the heir to Prestia's throne.
Following closely behind is a deadly old enemy anxious to share a
devastating revelation with the Warrior Princess.  Meanwhile, back 
in Amazonia, a heartbroken Gabrielle refuses to believe the warrior 
is out of her life for good, and with Ephiny's help initiates plans 
of her own to help Xena.  Parnell's depiction of the Xena/Gab 
relationship in this work is simply phenomenal - very deep, very
psychological, very special - at times even brutally honest in its
depiction of the pain that such depth of emotion can bring. As usual 
with Parnell fiction, the plot is original, clever and wonderfully
intriguing This is a definite MUST READ! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with
the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add
a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby,
depicting them as more than just friends.
