**HEART OF THE MATTER by Blue -- [Alt]
The PERFECT story for this upcoming weekend and for the romantic in us all. It begins with a bet between the goddess of love and her winged son. Aphrodite is certain that mortals aren't capable of true love and must therefore always need her and her son's spells to help them in that department. Cupid isn't as certain and to prove it he decides to show his mother a very different type of love from the one they evoke with their magic - a love that is true and complete and so strong that it will inspire generations to come. Meanwhile, a certain Warrior Princess and her bard come upon an old man struggling with a broken cart. Concerned that he would be easy prey for thieves, they invite him to travel with them for a bit. A self-described chronicler of human nature, Valentius becomes fast friends with the young bard who soon confides in him her feelings for the warrior, even showing the old man a simple little gift she hopes will reveal the love in her heart. Valentius will be with them again in a much darker time when moved by the love between these two soulmates he will vow to make sure a love like that is never forgotten. This one will tug at those heart strings so make sure to have the kleenex box well within reach folks. Blue's latest is a highly original, beautifully written, inspired piece that does a wonderful job of weaving the TV story with one of our most popular legends. A MUST READ!! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 7 pgs., 2/11/99

**MIDNIGHT CLEAR (A) by Blue -- [Alt]
A true Solstice gift for us all, Blue's latest is a very unique, magical uber tale with one of the most original incarnations of the warrior and bard we have yet to see. Set the day before Christmas eve, the story begins with New Yorker Vanessa Reynolds observing the latest antics of her very strong-minded feline, Raven, and remembering the day she saved the dark-furred beauty from certain death at an animal shelter. Having had no intention to become a cat owner when Raven nevertheless adopted her, Vanessa is determined to ignore the other strays fighting in the alley outside her window - a resolution that's quickly abandoned when the dark feline becomes obsessed with the noise outside, eventually drawing her owner's attention to a golden little bundle about to be ripped to shreds there. Amazed at how Raven and the newcomer just hit it off, Vanessa soon finds herself with two cats as she searches for her guest's owner, never suspecting the conspiracy playing out all around her... ;-) Generating a sense of hope and revolving around the timeless quality of love, this MUST READ also offers a number of hysterical lines. A MIDNIGHT CLEAR is a true fanfic delight that comes VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 21 pgs., 12/24/98

SOME OTHER GOOD DAY by Blue -- [Alt]
Blue mixes actual scenes from the TV series into her latest offering which bridges the gap between A GOOD DAY and CRUSADER presenting us with the scenes we didn't see and extending these beyond what we've seen as an anxious Xena, continues desperately trying to avoid the vision Alti showed her - never suspecting that she might instead be rushing right into it. Solid characterizations strengthen a well-crafted plot to produce a noteworthy effort. DO NOT MISS! - 15 pgs., 12/1/98

SWEET SURRENDER by Blue
A story which brings Gabrielle full circle as faced with the horrors of the events we saw in MATERNAL INSTINCTS she remembers the prophetic dreams she had just before meeting a certain Warrior Princess. Poignant and beautifully written. - 26 pgs., 3/15/98

THOUGHTS by Blue -- [Alt]
In an interesting stylistic choice that works very well, Blue has broken up this new story into three parts with the first told from Xena's perspective, the second from Gabrielle's, and the third told in third person. We are made privy to the thoughts of these two women even before they find the courage to admit these to one another. Well-written and quite passionate. After this you will NEVER look at cherries in quite the same way again! >:) - 6 pgs., 6/97
