**BEYOND AND FOREVER by Pallas -- [Alt]
Heart-WRENCHING does not even BEGIN to describe this superb new hurt/comfort story from a very talented writer who is establishing a reputation for dealing with both the joys and agonies relationships can bring. This latest tale exemplifies that as few others in Xena fanfic have done to date - depicting a love for the ages between two soulmates willing to battle anyone or anything to be together but ultimately vulnerable to the cruel realities of human frailty. It is a tale of two lovers preparing to say goodbye - and two hearts that never will. Stock up on the kleenex before tackling this one but by all means do tackle it. There's nothing better in fanfic than stories which elicit emotion and this one does it in droves! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 16 pgs., 9/18/98

RAVAGES OF SPIRIT by Pallas -- [Alt]
This has got to be one of the most emotionally draining stories I have ever read - but it's also among the best written. Set in the fourth year of Xena and Gabrielle's friendship it marks a turning point in that friendship as the bard realizes that she can no longer go on by the warrior's side, loving Xena as she does and having to hide it. With her soul in agony, the bard sneaks away into the night, certain that if she stays she'll only end up destroying them both. Together with a concerned Ephiny, the Warrior Princess immediately sets off after her but before facing the bard once again she will need to face the feelings within herself - feelings which the Amazon Regent is all too familiar with. This is a very powerful story of three women - three friends, of human fears, human desires and how these can sometimes lead to the most agonizing ravages of spirit... Pallas' writing is remarkably effective, as she continuously shifts point of view to reveal the thoughts of her principals. This one is likely to haunt you for a while ;-) DO NOT MISS! - 53 pgs., 5/27/98

**SEARCHING FOR SWOLLEN BUDS by Pallas -- [Alt]
Gabrielle goes shopping for Xena's birthday present but she can't seem to find what she has in mind. A very amused and always mischievous Callisto tags along - just waiting for the bard to find that perfect gift ;-) If your funny bone hasn't already been seriously jeopardized this evening, it is going to be in critical condition after this! Callisto is in top form as is Pallas in a HYSTERICAL sketch that comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 9 pgs., 10/20/98
