**BUT FOR HOPE by de Bonheur -- [Alt]
The ninth installment in de Bonheur's LONG IS THE WAY SERIES like all the rest of the installments can be read as a story on it's own and it is a hauntingly BEAUTIFUL story - one of the best in the series to date. Shaken by the death of her mentor, a confused and hurt Xena chooses to put some distance between herself and Gabrielle, hoping to make some sense of the raging emotions within her. All the while, the bard waits and hopes for the return of her warrior, seeing the pale blue eyes in the faces of strangers and desperately trying to keep her heart from breaking. **INTO THE LIGHT by de Bonheur -- [Alt]
De Bonheur's tenth entry in the LONG IS THE WAY SERIES deals with Xena's greatest fear as she comes close to losing her bard in a fight. De Bonheur writes with a very unique, almost poetic style that lends passion and beauty to the words and which is distinctly suited to the themes she is exploring. This is very nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 7 pgs., 10/25/97

**PATHS OF LOVE (THE) by de Bonheur -- [Alt]
This is the thirteenth and final entry in de Bonheur's wonderful LONG IS THE WAY SERIES. Having been through a lot of challenges, both physically and emotionally, Xena and Gabrielle are enjoying a quiet time with the Amazons. It is a time which allows Xena to reflect on what her life has been like and what it has turned into with the bard now at her side. It is a time also for rejoicing in that love and at last letting go of some of those long-held fears. This is a beautiful, poignant ending to a very romantic series which reaffirms the power of love. SECRETS OF THE HOARY DEEP (THE) by de Bonheur -- [Alt]
This FANTASTIC follow up to de Bonheur's AND FAIR TRUTH is an uber-Xena story set in post-WWI France where a young aristocrat named Michelle Destin finds herself in the middle of an intriguing mystery involving a very old painting...and the enigmatic woman that soon comes into her life. Meanwhile, in Elysia a certain warrior and bard enjoy the happiness they earned long ago, thinking of the life they made together, but wanting also to help the living children of their blood find that happiness. Still unfinished, this story is wonderfully promising. De Bonheur does an excellent job presenting the aristocratic element of post-WWI Parisian society. Meanwhile, as in her previous stories, the Xena/Gab relationship is depicted with great care, great passion and great tenderness. Still unfinished this story is already a fine read. DO NOT MISS! [unfinished] - 2/7/98
