• PERSONAL NOTE     
  A very BIG and very heartfelt *CONGRATULATIONS* to one of the finest bards in the Xenaverse - my friend and neighbor, Missy Good for drawing the attention of Renaissance Pictures and getting hired by them to write a XWP television script for season six. Missy has a heart of gold and a generosity of spirit that has endeared her to thousands in this fandom and beyond. We wish her the best of luck in this endeavor and all future ones (HINT! HINT! >:-)
  
  

  One small step for the Merwolf...one giant leap for fanfic!!!

• THE XWP AND VOYAGER INDEXES TO MUSIC VIDEOS AND VIDEO PARODIES:
  Major change with the video index folks. I've been learning MIVA (XML) programming as of late and decided to experiment with this index. Librarians and programming - DEADLY combination! (maniacal laugh! >:-) There are now two separate indexes - one for XWP, one for VOYAGER. Each index is fully sortable by title, creator, music, artist and site. Listings are available broken down into pages, for those of you who prefer things to go fast, or as full tables with all the listings at once. You can sort each column by clicking on the column heading. The sorted column will then appear in gray. I had a number of people with different browsers beta test these new indexes and I think I got all the bugs out of the way but if any of you experience problems accessing the information, if the tables don't display correctly on your screen or if you simply have suggestions please e-mail me at .

• THE BARD'S REFERENCE LIBRARY:
  

  LOTS of changes at the library folks. First of all - the library is now housed in two separate buildings, one containing the XENA COLLECTION and the other containing a new VOYAGER COLLECTION. Some of the resources and links in each collection are the same but most are specifically geared toward the two different fandoms.

  The Library's XENA COLLECTION has opened up a new wing called FOREIGN LANGUAGE XWP FAN FICTION. This section will link to sites featuring foreign language XWP fanfic - both original stories and translations.

  The Xena Collection's Reviews section now includes a link to XENAVERSO - a site offering Spanish language reviews of XWP fanfic.

  The Other Fanfic And Writing Resources On The Net sections in both collections now include a link to FREEDICT.COM - a site offering 16 different foreign language dictionaries allowing visitors to translate from English into these languages and back.

• SITE WIDE CHANGES:
  

  I've redesigned the MAIN PAGE a bit to make room for the Bard's Reference Library's new VOYAGER COLLECTION.

  Also, I've added a link below the form for transaltions pointing visitors to a new page featuring a NOTE ABOUT TRANSLATIONS which explains what that SYSTRAN translation service is best used for and recommending that fans interested in fanfic translations visit the sites offering those. Many thanks to Verrath, Fausta and Haydee for translating my note on that page into German, French and Portuguese.

  Finally, I've redesigned the footer templates that you'll find at the bottom of all pages hopefully making it easier for visitors to navigate the site regardless of what page they're in at the site.

• MAIN PAGE
  I've added a feature to the Main Page and to this What's New page that will allow visitors to traslate the entire site into either Spanish, French, German, Italian or Portuguese. A service offered by SYSTRAN Translation Software, this is something I've begun to see at sites throughout XWP fandom and on the Internet. Judging from the Spanish translation which I can read, these translations are not the most accurate things you'll ever read ;-) They're done by software which pretty much just translates text word-for-word. Anyone who is bilingual knows that word-for-word translations don't necessarily carry the same meaning in different languages. Nevertheless, this is a very nice service that DOES make web pages more accessible to the millions of people out there on the Net. From personal e-mail I've received, I know there are XWP fans all over the world including a number whose primary language is not English. These translations can potentially make it easier for them to locate things on our web sites so I urge fellow XWP webmasters to consider adding a feature like this one to their sites.

  Vol. III, #30 "I'm Open" - A particularly poignant entry in Terry's fantastic comic series, this new issue opens with a flashback of happier days as Francine recalls a day of mischievous fun playing catch football with Katchoo and their friends. Ingrained in her mind is the final image of that game - her best friend grinning at their combined victory - a memory made more painful by Francine's growing fear that she may just have lost Katchoo forever. Meanwhile, as Francine's mother tries to get her daughter to go on with her life - a stranger follows close behind. Terry does his usual wonderful job of pulling at our heart strings by contrasting the merriment of those earlier days with Francine's current sorrow. Another excellent issue. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
