Hi guys,

Enginerd is BACK and we have some other great fan fic tonight!

A word of clarification first - Enginerd's latest story reviewed below is her fifth XWP tale. Her stories all build on one another and should ideally be read in order. If you have not read Enginerd's previous works and would like to do so in order to better enjoy her latest novel, read the stories in this order: JUSTICE IN WALSAS, IN A MAN'S WORLD, ON UNCERTAIN GROUND, and GIFT OF GAB

FOR BETTER OR WORSE by Enginerd
Enginerd was one the early pioneers in XWP fan fiction who helped establish the level of excellence we enjoy in the genre today. She has contributed some of the most original and well-written tales ever written about the warrior and bard - with this latest offering perhaps being her best to date. Coming on the heels of the amazing GIFT OF GAB, this sequel had a lot to live up to...and it DOES so handedly! Once again, Enginerd delivers a story which raises the caliber of her writing just that extra notch reaffirming her place among the top storytellers on the Net. Having finally admitted their love for one another, Xena and Gabrielle are still adjusting to the dynamics of their new relationship when they are called back to Walsas to help with the marriage of the bard's older sister and a very nervous Meleager the Mighty. On top of wedding plans, Gabrielle soon finds herself faced with a mother who has never forgiven her for leaving home years before, and struggling with self-doubts inspired by the knowledge that a certain Warrior Princess will never see her as an equal. As if that weren't enough, news soon arrive from Amazonia of a crisis brewing there - a crisis which could cost the young Amazon queen her very life... This is a terrific action-adventure, a romance which will melt your heart, a poignant hurt/comfort tale, and a HILARIOUS comedy all wraped-up in an exquisitely written package you will NOT soon forget. One of Enginerd's strengths has always been her characterizations - particularly her depiction of Gabrielle which once again stands out in this story. Enginerd's Gabrielle is intelligent, brave, determined, vulnerable and just absolutely endearing. This is one of the BEST stories I have ever read and a MUST for every Xenite. RADIANT NIGHT by de Bonheur
De Bonheur's latest is set in Poteidaia where Xena and Gabrielle have gone to spend some time with the storyteller's family. This is a short, simple and beautifully romantic piece which celebrates the love between warrior and bard.

SURFACING by Paul Seely and Jennifer Garza
Part 10 of this story is now available. A very well-written, original new uber-Xena tale that will have you spell-bound from chapter one. Set in the present day, it revolves around the mysterious activities of a secret agent going by the name of Diana Starret. On assignment from the shadowy, top-secret organization who once recruited her when she had little choice in the matter, Diana's mission is to keep a dangerous criminal from landing in prison until the full extent of his operation has been revealed. It is this assignment that leads her to a fateful meeting with a young lawyer named Charlotte Browning. The two women are inexplicably drawn to one another and soon find themselves haunted by the same dream - about a leather-clad warrior drowning in blood and the strawberry blonde trying to save her. In this latest part, Diana puts her plan into motion. As yet unfinished, this tale is riveting and NOT TO BE MISSED!!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
