**UBERMADNESS: THE BATTLE FOR THE THIRD AGE by a href="https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/Bat_Morda.shtm.htm">Bat Morda - [Alt]
The very talented Bat Morda returns with the long-awaited sequel to THE SEARCH FOR AMPHIPOLIS. Set one hundred years after that story, it chronicles the continuing struggle of Xena and Gabrielle's descendants against the God of War...only this time around those descendants may in fact be more than just descendants. The story begins with hacker extraordinaire Xero, deadly, beautiful and not keen on trusting people, narrowly escaping an assassination attempt. Soon she is joining forces with Rielle, a beautiful, green-eyed blonde who claims to know what is happening - but as a syscop, also happens to be a hackers worst enemy. All the while the skeptical Xero is learning more about a certain warrior of legend - and learning more about herself in the process. Bat does a wonderful job here of creating a futuristic world filled with personalities that should be familiar to many of you in the Xenaverse. Her Xero is a gritty, no-nonsense type very reminiscent of warlord Xena while Rielle embodies the best of Gabrielle - intelligent, determined, and very much ruled by her heart. This story is fun, passionate, emotional and decidedly original! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 151 pgs., 6/10/98

UNCHARTERED WATERS by a href="https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/KR_Brendan.shtm.htm">K.R. Brendan - [Alt]
This is a promising new uber tale set on the high seas during the reign of the pirates. On her way to the colonies to marry a man she's never met, Catherine Moore is in the wrong place at the wrong time when the ship she's traveling in is boarded by pirates. Confronted by one of the raiders and viciously attacked, the girl's fate seems certain until a beautiful stranger with cold blue eyes delivers her from that fate. Feeling responsible for the traumatized young woman, Tayce disguises her as a boy to safely bring her on board her pirate ship, never suspecting how that selfless act will forever change her life and the future of Catherine Moore. KR is writing here a fun, period piece with likeable characterizations that should keep us coming back for more. [unfinished] - 11 pgs., 9/17/99

VENDETTA by a href="https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/Xenamaster.shtm.htm">Xenamaster - [Alt]
This is an entertaining uber story that reads like a futuristic version of the first two XWP seasons. It begins with Cameron Hunter arriving at a starbase on the trail of an old enemy from her days as the feared "Headhunter". It's a mission she's distracted from when she saves a young golden-skinned alien girl from the slavers that have captured her. Intent on returning the girl to her people, Cameron soon finds herself with a very loyal friend just as some of the sins of her past come back to hunt her. Xenamaster does a terrific job of incorporating events, characters, and even dialogue from the TV series into this futuristic space opera that would probably work as a fun uber episode. - 43 pgs., 1/28/99
