Number 70 in the RAISING MELOSA SERIES follows Xena's convalescence as she returns home and starts getting used to her reduced capacities. Gabrielle and Mel are there to help despite concerns of their own as the bard worries about the pressures on the Amazon Nation and Mel finds herself distracted by the presence of a visiting Amazon... T. Novan paints a humorous and sympathetic picture of an older Warrior Princess coming to terms with what the years and all those battles are doing to that older bod. - 6 pgs.

**OBSIDIAN by Amy J. Putnam
This story by a promising new bard is a BRILLIANT allegory which offers a very thought-provoking and insightful exploration of the characters and the Xena/Gab relationship. In doing so it incorporates many moments from the actual series lending an air of authenticity to the writing. It is a simple tale that has Gabrielle remembering her past with the Warrior Princess, but beyond that it is a story about learning to trust...and learning to love.
