**HANGING GARDENS (THE) by XWP Fanatic
The second episode in the SEVEN WONDERS SERIES after Fanatic's extraordinary AFTERMATH: THE THREE OF LIFE this sequel continues the story of Xena the Conqueror and her lovely consort, Gabrielle, Queen of the Amazons as they travel to exotic Babylon home of one of the wonders of the Ancient World, the majestic Hanging Gardens. There to celebrate the anniversary of King Nebuharin's reign, Conqueror and queen begin to suspect the intentions of the crafty Babylonian ruler the minute they spot a Roman flag among the ships in the harbor. Joining the other rulers also invited to the festivities they soon learn of Nebuharin's plans for the historic gathering - only there are other plans afoot as well...ones which may endanger the Conqueror, her queen and the still fragile happiness they have found together. Fanatic continues here the very solid characterizations she established in the first story as she develops the relationship between a very dangerous, very driven, very smart Conqueror who is nevertheless pitifully ignorant when it comes to affairs of the heart, and a stubborn Amazon queen with a gentle soul, a wisdom that is often beyond her years and a keen understanding of those affairs of the heart. Establishing in the first few chapters what promises to be one heck of murder mystery, this tale surrounds the Xena/Gab romance with a terrific sense of suspense and intrigue. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GABRIELLE by L.J. Maas
Part of L.J. Maas' QUEEN SERIES, this clever first time tale opens with the warrior already married to a very pregnant bard and planning a unique anniversary present for her beloved. Aware of some special herbs that can help synchronize the dreams of individuals, Xena secretly sends them both into a dreamscape where they find themselves reliving the moment years before where Xena stupidly allowed another to take her bard from her robing them both of the opportunity to share a very special first time together. It's a mistake the warrior is determined not to repeat again. This is a rather "convenient" story but also a very romantic, entertaining one that will have you feeling quite sympathetic for the Warrior Princess. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, XENA by L.J. Maas
In a rather amusing follow-up to HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GABRIELLE, an excited bard looks forward to returning the favor her beautiful warrior did for her recently but things don't work out quite as planned leaving a frustrated Gabrielle trapped in a dreamscape where her own situation is not quite what she hoped, there's some intimidating competition for the affections of her beloved, and perhaps most challenging of all - there's the hormones of a sixteen year old Xena to deal with ;-) L.J. combines some very funny moments here with some rather poignant ones as we catch a glimpse of pre-warlord Xena and follow Gabrielle's efforts at somehow salvaging her "anniversary plans" ;-) Very cute. - 26 pgs., 6/15/00

Oh GODS! If you're drinking something while reading this STAY AWAY from the keyboard because it will likely get drenched when you break out in fits of laughter! Xena and Gabby have finally done the deed! They have MARRIED...Hercules and Iolus. The couples are very happy only the boys can't quite understand why JUST as they're returning from some LONG mission that turned out to be a false alarm, their wives are then called on a LONG mission of their own - and to places like Niagarus NO LESS! Only a brilliant, wicked mind could have come up with this jewel! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 26 pgs., 5/24/97

Nene's latest entry in the XENAVERSE FAERY TALES series is a poignant, bittersweet story about enduring love and sacrifice. Set in Amphipolis years after the death of Xena, the city's most renowned citizen, the tale begins with an old, staff-wielding beggar woman bitterly trying to set the record straight about the Warrior Princess when students visiting a statue of the famed hero are told only about her good deeds. That night the statue comes to life asking the one who knew her in life better than anyone else for help...one last time. Kleenex alert on this very worthy read which carries a warning about opportunities lost while celebrating the everlasting power of love. DO NOT MISS! [Note: Story is not explicit] - 4 pgs., 4/5/98

HARD AS LOVE by Claire Withercross
Things get a tad more complicated in part 5 of the RANDOM THOUGHTS SERIES as Gabrielle becomes aware of her growing attraction for the beautiful Warrior Princess and Xena worries about the girl's ability to get past her defenses. Claire does a nice job here dealing with the new concerns in the relationship while keeping Xena and Gab very much in character. - 4 pgs., 5/8/00
