WAGER (THE) by Rab Donald
Amusing little story that has the Warrior Princess making a VERY sure bet. Some fun mind games in here. - 7 pgs., 1/11/99
http://members.wbs.net/homepages/c/h/a/chakram1/thewager.html

**WAGES OF SIN (THE) by Mathghamhna
A VERY promising warlord/slave story by a talented new writer! With only two chapters released so far this story has Xena and Gabrielle following a path of destruction carved by the army of a warlord they hope to stop - only the warlord surprises them first. With no other recourse, but to try to convince the man that she is there to do business with him, Xena is forced to assume once again her old role as the Warrior Princess, presenting Gabrielle as her slave. It is a ruse that will either drive the two friends apart...or bring them closer than ever. In these initial installments, the story provides a chilling insight into what life was like for Xena in her days as a warlord. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [unfinished] - 8/14/97

WAITING (THE) by Bel-wah
The bard studies the Warrior Princess and contemplates the dynamics of their relationship as she accompanies Xena back to a place with less-than-happy memories where an old friend lies dying. This is a nicely-written character piece with a melancholic feel to it. - 8 pgs., 7/4/99
https://ausxip.com/fanfiction/w/waiting2.html

WAITING NOT SO PATIENTLY by T. Novan
The plan for flushing out a potential killer is going as scheduled in part 80 of the RAISING MELOSA SERIES only it's taking its toll on the willpowers and emotions of a certain royal couple. T. is doing a wonderful job with this new spin on the story - giving a sense of pathos to our heroines' predicament despite the building suspense. Very nice. - 6 pgs., 10/3/99
https://ausxip.com/fanfiction/w/waitingnotso.html
[Palm Pilot version available at XENA FAN FICTION FOR THE PALM PILOT]

WAKE UP by Silk
Short little vignette that has the warrior and bard feeling playful...and romantic in the morning. Nice writing. Sweet interlude. :) - 2 pgs., 11/14/97
https://ausxip.com/fanfic/wakeup.html

**WALK THROUGH FIRE by SL Bowers - [See the CHIAROSCURO SERIES]

WALL (THE) by Candace Chellew
A poignant mental soliloquy by Xena as she ponders what her life has been like - the barrier she's constructed around her heart - and how a certain bard has managed to breach that barrier. [Story is not explicit] - 4 pgs., 6/5/98
http://www. xenafan.com/fiction/content3/wallcandace.html

**WARLORD by Pink Rabbit Productions
On a beautiful, moonlit night Gabrielle fantasizes about the Warrior Princess - but not the warrior she knows - rather the dark, powerful warlord she only knows off. It is a fantasy that for the bard will become reality that night. SIZZLING does not even come close to describing this little tale which beneath the passion also reflects a very deep love. Moreover, WARLORD is an exploration of that forbidden attraction for things dark and powerful. This one gets a DO NOT READ AT WORK warning and is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [Make sure to also read the sequel TURNABOUT]. - 7 pgs., 11/4/97

WARLORD DAZE by Katrina
A somewhat different warlord/slave story that will likely get that pulse racing...fast. With Xena back in warlord mode, a determined Gabrielle enlists the aid of friends to help her get back to the warrior's side. One slight glitch though - Xena doesn't seem to remember her so to stay near Gabrielle is going to have to convince the Warrior Princess that she's her personal slave...attentive in every way. Unbeknownst to the bard, Xena has a surprise in store for her - the first of MANY they will share in this HIGHLY erotic, exceedingly well-written and intriguing tale. More than a story about Xena: Warrior Princess, WARLORD DAZE is an exploration of sexuality, power, trust and the appeal of the forbidden. NOTE: This is an adult story that contains S&M and bondage. It is an acquired taste that may not be for everyone. - 490 pgs., 8/20/97
http://whoosh.org/katrina/STO/warlord/warlord1.html

WARLORD'S VENGEANCE (A) by Marion D Tuttle
Xena and the Amazons suspect all may not be right when a warlord demands the presence of the true Amazon Queen before he'll sign a peace treaty. Good tie-in with a first season episode. - 15 pgs., 10/4/98
http://www.amazontrails.com/xena/altfict.htm

WARRIOR AND HUNTER by [Anonymous writer]
Unusual story set after the events in the episode THE FURIES which has Gabrielle convincing a still troubled Xena to relax for a little while. They camp near a mysterious temple where in the company of her bard Xena allows her vulnerabilities to show through, never suspecting that another is witnessing the exchanges between them and seeing what they themselves have not yet recognized. This is well-written and intriguing. - 12 pgs., 1/29/98
http://xenafan.com/fiction/content3/warriorhunter.html

**WARRIOR AND THE BARD (THE) - REDEMPTION by Maven
Part Three of the ALPHA/OMEGA TRILOGY, this story is poignant, heart-breaking, and reaffirming all at once. Set in the latter years of Gabrielle's life, it finds the bard once again taking to the road, on a journey to see friends and transfer for the last time a responsibility she was never able to fully embrace. Without her warrior now, it is a journey she begins alone never expecting the unlikely champion that soon begins to haunt her every move - a one time enemy who insists on resuming a game of truth or dare played long ago - perhaps to injure once again...or perhaps in search of the same redemption another lost soul found in a noble heart. Told in part as a series of diary entries, this is an emotional character study of two richly drawn, complex personalities. It is a haunting story that finally brings closure to the cycle of hatred - giving victory to the power of love and forgiveness. It is an absolute MUST READ for all Callisto fans and for every one else it comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as well! - 12 pgs., 6/10/98
http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/8994/ao3.html

**WARRIOR AND THE BARD (THE) - TEMPTATION by Maven
Part two of the ALPHA/OMEGA TRILOGY is a haunting, beautiful, heart-wrenching story quite different in tone from Maven's first but very much equal in terms of quality. This is also a crossover tale featuring characters from Anne Rice's popular commercial novels. Set fifteen years after the warrior and bard first meet, the story has them leading a life together as innkeepers when they receive a visit from a mysterious stranger - a stranger with a very tempting offer... A very moving tale you wont soon forget. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs., 3/16/98
http://xenafiction.net/scrolls/temptation.html

**WARRIOR AND THE BARD (THE) - TRIBUTE by Maven
Part one of the ALPHA/OMEGA TRILOGY this is a very unique, clever new story that relies on a shifting point-of-view technique to draw some rather charming characterizations of our XWP favorites. As the story begins the warrior and bard are admitting some hidden truths to one another - truths that lead them to make some important decisions once they arrive in Amazonia. This story is a really delightful read that will have you grinning throughout. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 13 pgs., 3/16/98
http://xenafiction.net/scrolls/tribute.html

**WARRIOR BY ANY OTHER NAME (A) by Melissa Good
Long and very well written, this story explores the themes of tolerance and friendship as Xena and Gab help a strange man-like creature and his people in their struggle to survive the fear and hatred of neighboring humans. For those of you who were fans of the TV series BEAUTY & THE BEAST, the character of Jessan will remind you of the character of Vincent! This is an alternative story but contains no graphic scenes. In its discovery stage, the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle depicted here is very sweet and at times deeply moving. DO NOT MISS the sequel AT A DISTANCE. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! [part of the JOURNEY OF SOULMATES SERIES] - 238 pgs., 4/29/97

**WARRIOR SPIRIT by T. Novan
In a DELIGHTFUL homage to the movie GHOST, T. Novan continues the story begun in WE NEVER SAY GOODBYE with the now immortal Gabrielle grieving the loss of her beloved warrior's last incarnation. Meanwhile, a ghostly Xena makes a pact with the Goddess of Love that could eventually return her to corporal form but first she'll have to find a killer and to do that she's gonna need the help of her grieving soulmate. Emotional at first, this story develops into a fun, sexy little romp with a nice bit of suspense thrown in. T. Novan's playful and yet deeply loving portrayal of Xena and Gab is guaranteed to leave you with a very wide grin here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See the sequel THE PRICE OF LOVE] - 22 pgs., 7/26/99

**WARRIOR, THE WITCH AND THE NIGHTMARE (THE) by Verrath
A SPECTACULAR adventure-thriller, Verrath latest is a lengthy, thoroughly engrossing tale which begins on Mount Olympus where the gods are very concerned about an unexpected presence in the mortal realm. Meanwhile, on Earth, Xena and Gabrielle are busy saving a mysterious stranger - a woman accused of being a witch who inspires something in Xena the warrior is not used to feeling...fear. Before long the warrior's instincts prove correct as she embarks on a desperate quest to find her beloved partner, ultimately making a deal with a goddess whose unusual aid will challenge warrior and bard as they've never been challenged before. Verrath delivers here a remarkably entertaining story with a well-conceived, solidly paced, suspenseful plot. The characterizations are terrific all-around with the fiercely determined, emotionally reserved warrior contrasting beautifully with the more open, sensitive bard. In an ironic twist, the villain though impressively evil acts also as the conduit through which the love story is developed. A page-turner if I've ever read one, this is a MUST READ certain to satisfy that fanfic craving. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 100 pgs., 11/19/00
http://merwolf.com/academy/verrath_wwn1.html

**WARRIOR'S BEST FRIEND by Otter
A fun little story that has the bard and a furious Warrior Princess going after a clever horsethief when Argo comes up missing - only Xena isn't the only one that horsethief is gonna need protection from. Otter does a terrific job mixing the more playful aspects of the Xena/Gab relationship with some slizzing passion in a story reminiscent of those simpler days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 12 pgs., 5/31/99
http://members.wbs.net/homepages/c/h/a/chakram1/warriorsbestfriend.html

WARRIOR'S HANDS (A) by sHaYcH
Sensual new offering set right after the events in the episode THE LOST MARINER which has Gabrielle remembering a secret she's kept from the Warrior Princess for much too long. - 6 pgs., 9/11/97
http://www.geocities.com/shaych3/hands.htm

WARRIOR'S HEART (A) by L. J. Burchell
Contrasting the thoughts of Xena and Gabrielle as their relationship starts to change, this story shows the anguish of an ex-warlord terrified of admitting what's in her heart and a bard frustrated by the tension and sadness she senses in her beloved partner. L.J.'s story is well written with a very nice, strong foundation of love and devotion in the relationship. - 4 pgs., 5/9/00
http://www.amazontrails.com/xena/warriorsheart2.htm

**WARRIOR'S HEART (A) by TZ
TZ concludes her fantastic A SACRIFICE FOR LOVE SERIES, with a tour-de-force! - a spellbinding, magical tale that will remind you in parts of the movie GHOST and offers the same combination of humor, romance, and drama that made that film such a huge success. Certain that she's dead, Gabrielle is thoroughly confused when she finds herself in the woods near Xena - able to see her partner, able to see and smell and feel the forest around them but invisible to the warrior. With her heart mirroring the ache in Xena's own, the little bard begins to follow her - vowing to keep her safe despite the warrior's almost suicidal recklessness. Soon Xena senses the beloved presence by her side and thus begins a quest to bring her soulmate back to the world of the living - determined to do so no matter the consequences...or the price. At times funny, at times heart-wrenching, this is a magical love story that thoroughly warms the spirit. A definite MUST READ! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! -- 15 pgs., 9/14/98

WARRIOR'S HONOR by Lyssa
This first-time alt. tale features a very passionate interpretation of the Xena/Gabrielle relationship. It explores Xena's darker side, the raw passions lying beneath the surface and the warrior code upon which she bases her life. The story has Xena going off to battle some ruffians and leaving Gabrielle at an inn, affording the two time to think about the feelings that have been developing between them, time in which they must either find the courage to admit those feelings or risk losing each other forever. - 62 pgs., 4/97

**WARRIOR'S JOURNAL (THE) by WordWarior
This gifted bard is back with a short, thought-provoking and very nicely written tale of Xena just prior to her army's betrayal and the gauntlet she was forced to endure. The story is told by a scribe who follows her around, recording her actions on the night before a battle as she visits her men, comforting the sick, encouraging the warriors and exacting punishment on any who dare disobey her orders. The portrait that emerges is of a Warrior Princess with a very definite if sometimes ruthless code of honor and of a woman engulfed in darkness but beginning to reach out for the light that will find her in the months and years to come. Original look at a Xena in transition. Note: This story is not explicit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs., 10/8/97

WARRIOR'S TALE (THE) by Gilliland
This story by a new bard is one of the most beautiful merging of prose and poetry I have ever read. Shifting point-of-views and startling imagery, make the style unique and richly emotional. Set soon after the events in the much-loved episode IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE, the tale has a still-recuperating Gabrielle getting ready to take part in a bard competition in Athens, while Xena, unable to forget how close she came to loosing her companion, is gathering the courage she will need to leave her. The warrior is certain Gabrielle will forever be in danger by her side, but to push her away she will need to overcome both the bard's steely determination to stay and her own desperate need for the gentle heart she has grown to love so much. Riveting and powerful. - 19 pgs., 6/97

WARRIORS, SCHEMES & DREAMS by Saturday Whim
Saturday's first fanfic effort is a sweet first-time tale set after FISH, FEMMES AND GEMS that has Gabrielle taking the initiative with her Warrior Princess after a little prodding from the Goddess of Love. Nicely written with a good interpretation of the Xena/Gab relationship. DO NOT MISS! - 10 pgs., 11/21/98

**WARRIORS WILL BE WARRIORS by T. Novan
