**AT A DISTANCE by Melissa Good
Melissa Good established herself as a very promising writer with her first story A WARRIOR BY ANY OTHER NAME. With this second offering she easily lives up to that promise giving us one of the best stories written this year so far - a long, WONDERFUL tale that has a little bit of everything but that you'll remember above all for the beautiful, loving and tender relationship between warrior and bard. The story opens with Xena and Gabrielle relaxing after the events depicted in Missy's first tale. They are traveling on their own once again and have begun to further explore the growing feelings between them. It is an exploration that will be put on hold suddenly when Gabrielle has to return to the Amazons to deal with a dangerous power struggle, while Xena goes to Amphipolis where she soon finds herself in a volatile situation of her own. Separated, the two can no longer ignore what they feel for one another but every day they're apart the danger grows worse until finally both realize they have no choice but to face that danger. Suspense, action, humor - they're all in here but the romance is special and unforgettable. Note that there is no graphic sex scenes in this story. It is a tale the whole family can enjoy. A Personal favorite that gets my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!! [Do not miss the sequel HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS, part of the JOURNEY OF SOULMATES SERIES] - 184 pgs., 6/28/97

AT WHAT COST by TZ
Set after the events in SACRIFICE II, this story follows a desperate Xena as she appeals to one Olympian after another for help getting her beloved bard back - eventually teaming up with two old friends in a wild gamble with fate ;-) Entertaining tale with good characterizations of the gods. [Part of the A SACRIFICE FOR LOVE SERIES] - 27 pgs., 7/23/98

**ATTENTION SHOPPERS by Lawlsfan
Part three of the FOIBLES AND FOLLIES SERIES finds our insatiable twosome engaging in one of Gabrielle's favorite activities while a couple of assassins target the bard, never suspecting just how unwise that can be when a Warrior Princess is vent on making sure her partner is enjoying herself ;-) In the tradition of such great comedy classics like Nene Adams' MYTH SERIES, and Joanna's COMING OUT SERIES, Lawlsfan is packaging the best of Xena and Gab here - their humor, their passion, their charm and that off-the-meter chemistry into a series of episodes that will have you clamoring for more and grinning from ear to ear. Put this latest gem on your MUST READ list. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 8 pgs., 1/12/00
