**FOLLOW THE BLOOD by Fyrequeene
This is one of those stories that you will find yourself simply unable to put down once you start reading. A riveting, MASTERFULY crafted tale that recalls a vary dark time in the life of the Warrior Princess. It is a time Xena reluctantly finds herself remembering as she and Gabrielle travel through an area she once destroyed, on their way to a meeting with one of the men who helped her in that campaign. What they come upon instead is an unfolding mystery that becomes more gruesome with each passing day - eventually even instilling fear in the heart of the warrior herself. Fyrequeene's writing is characterized by an economy of words that makes it very easy to read and wonderfully effective. The Xena/Gab relationship has a subtle feel to it that makes it powerful and highly emotional beneath the surface. The characterizations are exceptional. Put this one at the top of your MUST READ list. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 53 pgs., 1/28/98

**FOLLOWING HER HEART by T. Novan
Part 39 in the RAISING MELOSA SERIES is a heartwrenching chapter about expectations and disappointments, a future that will never be and another just beginning as Melosa takes her destiny in her own hands. Beautifully written emotional piece. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 6 pgs., 5/26/99

**FONDER HEART: A BITE ME SEQUEL (THE) by Katrina
Set in the present day, this is a poignant sequel to Katrina's BITE ME which helps set the premise for her BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES. The story has Gabrielle, made immortal by Bacchus' blood, suffering the aching loneliess of life without her soulmate and taking comfort in the arms of another - a mortal with an incredible resemblance to the ancient warrior a bard once loved so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs., 10/30/97

**FOR ALL TIME by Jamie Boughen
This is a hurt/comfort tale in the tradition of ALL THRU THE NIGHT. It is also rather original in its approach to the "first time" situation. Tired of being left behind and worried that Xena might be hurt during a mission to stop a ruthless warlord, Gabby decides to follow her never suspecting the cruelty she would soon encounter - cruelty which only together will warrior and bard be able to overcome. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 26 pgs., 3/97

**FOR BETTER OR WORSE by Enginerd
Enginerd was one the early pioneers in XWP fan fiction who helped establish the level of excellence we enjoy in the genre today. She has contributed some of the most original and well-written tales ever written about the warrior and bard - with this latest offering perhaps being her best to date. Coming on the heels of the amazing THE GIFT OF GAB, this sequel had a lot to live up to...and it DOES so handily! Once again, Enginerd delivers a story which raises the caliber of her writing just that extra notch reaffirming her place among the top storytellers on the Net. Having finally admitted their love for one another, Xena and Gabrielle are still adjusting to the dynamics of their new relationship when they are called back to Walsas to help with the marriage of the bard's older sister and a very nervous Meleager the Mighty. On top of wedding plans, Gabrielle soon finds herself faced with a mother who has never forgiven her for leaving home years before, and struggling with self-doubts inspired by the knowledge that a certain Warrior Princess will never see her as an equal. As if that weren't enough, news soon arrive from Amazonia of a crisis brewing there - a crisis which could cost the young Amazon queen her very life... This is a terrific action-adventure, a romance which will melt your heart, a poignant hurt/comfort tale, and a HILARIOUS comedy all wraped-up in an exquisitely written package you will NOT soon forget. One of Enginerd's strengths has always been her characterizations - particularly her depiction of Gabrielle which once again stands out in this story. Enginerd's Gabrielle is intelligent, brave, determined, vulnerable and just absolutely endearing. This is one of the BEST stories I have ever read and a MUST for every Xenite. It receives my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!! [See the follow-up story WITH GOOD INTENTIONS] - 131 pgs., 10/15/97

FOR GABRIELLE by TZ
A deeply moving little tale set in the final years of Xena and Gabrielle's lives that has the Warrior Princess fulfilling a promise to her bard when she writes their story in her own words - remembering how they met, how they lived, how they loved. FOR THE LOVE OF... by Xero
Xero's latest piece has the God of War up to his old tricks again when he strips a certain bard of her memory, leaving her to wake up in the arms of a stranger she immediately recognizes as the infamous Warrior Princess. A helpless Xena can then only watch as her beloved bard flees from her, determine to escape the clutches of the evil warlord - and determined to see her brought to justice as well. Ideal for the many angst-lovers among us. - 16 pgs., 12/9/98

**FOR THE LOVE OF CLICHES by WordWarior
Would you guys believe this is so TERRIFIC precisely because it's so BAD!!! ;-) Yeap, the multi-talented Wordee sets out in this little offering to include just about every fan fiction cliche out there and she succeeds in creating a tale that is going to leave you in stitches! :) VERY funny folks. A literary endeavor that should be suspiciously familiar to all fanfic readers and which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! - 2 pgs., 6/18/98

FOR THE PRESENT by Salmonellus
Fun, fast-paced adventure reading VERY much like an actual episode that has Xena shopping for a birthday present unaware that the planned recipient of that gift has been targeted for other purposes by some unsavory tapes. Salmonellus does a wonderful job capturing the traditional characterizations of Xena and Gabrielle from those earlier days even though the story follows the show's current timeline. - 53 pgs., 4/9/99

**FOR WANT OF A NAIL by Bel-wah
This gifted writer brings us a gripping story about choices and consequences that begins innocently enough with a bard and a reluctant warrior on their way to a festival. Proud of Xena and anxious for her to have a good time, Gabrielle pushes the warrior to become more and more involved in the festivities never suspecting what her playful prodding will lead to or the fateful decision she'll soon have to make. Revolving around one of the series' major themes, this tale features a particularly compelling characterization of the bard as she and her soulmate are once again challenged by the darkness in the human heart and the realities of life in a violent world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 19 pgs., 1/15/99

**FOREIGN INFLUENCES by Oversoul
EXTREMELY well-written, beautifully romantic epic which has Xena and Gabby finally admitting their feelings for one another and then joining forces with two friends from the Far East and Athena to fight Ares. Raven and Katrina - the characters from the Far East are wonderful. Still unfinished, 5 chapters in circulation. A MUST READ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED [unfinished] - 153 pgs., 5/9/97

FOREVER...GABRIELLE...FOREVER by Sinful
Emotional little story about the warrior and bard's final journey together. Sinful does a nice job here of emphasizing the immortality of the relationship without getting into specifics about afterlives or gods. - 6 pgs., 6/13/00
https://ausxip.com/fanfic9/forevergab.html

FORGET EVERYTHING by Quest
Quest's latest effort is a "what if" story which explores what life might have been like for Gabrielle had Callisto never killed Perdicus. Set five years after the marriage, it has Xena coming back into the bard's life at a time when Gabrielle desperately needs her and the warrior needs her bard. Nicely written piece which also touches upon some current issues. - 36 pgs., 5/9/97
http://xenafan.com/fiction/content/forget.html

**FORTRESS (THE) by Jim Kuntz
An impressive debut by a new bard, this exceptionally well-written, fast-paced tale has the warrior and bard sneaking into a fortress to secretly retrieve the Scepter of Athena. It is a mission that becomes more of a challenge then either had hoped for when the bard is injured and Xena finds herself struggling to save them both and struggling with the knowledge of how her life continues to endanger the woman she loves. Jim uses a very "tight" writing style that is a delight to read - with every action and every piece of dialogue conveying a wealth of meaning. His characterizations are outstanding, bringing us the no-nonsense, determined warrior and the gutsy, devoted bard that so many in this fandom love. The relationship harks to the pre-rift days of this partnership, with trust, respect, and a very powerful love forming its foundation. In parts an action-adventure, in parts a hurt/comfort story, this is a definite MUST READ folks! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See the sequel THE CITY] - 18 pgs., 1/2/99
