This is possibly the most SENSUAL piece of fan fiction I have ever read. Depicting a moment of passion and deep emotion, this vignette is so beautifully written that it reads almost like a poem. Written partly as a series of journal entries and from different perspectives, Kamouraskan's latest is a gut-wrenching journey of the heart that finds the warrior and bard on a quest to return a young boy, abducted years before by his father, to the mother who's been desperately searching for him ever since. The mission is one that opens up old wounds for them both recalling the children they themselves once gave up and the guilt they have yet to come to terms with. Kamouraskan offers here a very sophisticated, sensitive treatment of the characters which has them dealing honestly with their own feelings and with each other, trying to come to grips with a part of the past that continues to test them like nothing else has in part because it has denied them the comfort of one another. An original style and a poignant premise makes this one a MUST READ. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 9 pgs., 2/7/00

A dark, intense story that has Xena dealing with battle lust, remembering what that feeling used to drive her to as a warlord and desperately trying to keep Gabrielle from knowing that side of her - only the bard has other ideas... This is a well-written, passionate look at the darker dynamics involved in the Xena/Gab relationship. Note: Make sure to read the warnings at the beginning of the story. - 19 pgs., 1/20/98

The first entry in a planned new series called SINS OF A GODS, this debut by a talented new writer is a dark, mysterious story that begins with the warrior and bard coming upon a village recently decimated by Caesar's forces. Among the crucified they find a surprising survivor - a seemingly frail, half-dead child, who soon begins to manifest remarkable healing abilities...and a puzzling hatred for the Warrior Princess. This is well-written with good characterizations and an interesting interpretation of the series canon. - 113 pgs., 7/12/99

As the story begins Xena and the bard are summoned to the Amazon Nation where Ephiny and her warriors are at a loss as to how to explain the mysterious disappearance of several Amazons. Xena starts investigating, never letting on about the inner struggle she herself is in - a struggle to contain the raging emotions still haunting her despite having abandoned the life of a warlord - a struggle she will eventually loose plummeting her heart into a dark place where even Gabrielle may not be able to reach it. Set in the fifth season after the episode ANIMAL ATTRACTION, this story takes Xena and Gabrielle in a different direction from the TV show, most notably avoiding the pregnancy storyline. As the tale begins, Xena is noticing her partner's recent weariness and contemplating the second chance at life they've been given. Wanting nothing more than to make Gabrielle happy now, the warrior comes to a decision that will change things forever for them just as fate intervenes to remind them of how precious life can be. Already responsible for two of my favorite Solstice stories ever, SOLSTIVE EVE and SOLSTICE MORNING, Beowolf brings us an absolutely BEAUTIFUL new offering set exactly one year after those two earlier stories. This time Solstice finds the warrior and bard in a very different place under very different circumstances with Xena feeling horribly guilty at the life she is giving Gabrielle. The little bard, however, has different thoughts on the matter, knowing full well from where her happiness truly comes. This story is very much based on the sense of love and family and hope the Solstice season celebrates. It is reaffirming and deeply poignant. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Meanwhile, enemies of the empire will challenge the Conqueror forcing Xena to once again taste the savageness of war and calling attention to the young woman who's quickly becoming the Conqueror's one vulnerable spot. The story features some very emotional moments as it continues a fascinating treatment of the relationship between these two women.
