IN A QUEEN'S EYE by T. Novan
A sequel to T. Novan's WRAPPED, this little story has a very gentle, domestic feel to it as it shows the warrior and bard adjusting to the recent changes in their life. Sweet. [Part of the RAISING MELOSA SERIES] - 3 pgs., 12/1/98

[Palm Pilot version available at XENA FAN FICTION FOR THE PALM PILOT]

IN HER DREAMS by Sam Ruskin
The first in a new series, this tale is set after the episode AMPHIPOLIS UNDER SIEGE and finds Ares trying a particularly despicable new method of revenge on the Warrior Princess. As he's about to learn, however, threatening a certain bard is the quickest way to make Xena deadlier than she already is normally. Nice characterization of the warrior here in ULTRA protective mode. [See the sequel TELLING SECRETS] - 3 pgs., 8/15/00

**IN HER EYES by JL Peterson
A VERY spicy new offering about some hallucinatory mushrooms and an even more intoxicating pair of eyes ;-) Beautifully written little tale which reveals its secrets ever so slowly. A MUST READ! -- 4 pgs., 8/25/98
http://whoosh.org/katrina/STO/altlib/hereyes.html

IN HER EYES by Kamouraskan
Determined to avenge the family he once lost, a young boy sets out to eliminate the blue-eyed murderess who was responsible but things get complicated when he finds that murderess in the company of another and starts to see the undeniable bond that exists between the two. Kamouraskan gives us a touching story about the innate ability of children to sometimes recognize and honor truth even when they don't fully understand it. The writing also recalls the thinking process of children making the tale even more effective. DO NOT MISS! - 7 pgs., 12/20/99

**IN SICKNESS by Godot
An amusing new story which like all of Godot's fiction will soon have you thoroughly engaged in her very loving portrayal of the warrior and her bard. It's that relationship in fact which is challenged in this little tale when Gabrielle finds herself taking care of a sick, very cranky and exceedingly difficult Warrior Princess who just insists on testing her patience. Never one to give up easily, however, the bard takes up the challenge and soon is even surprising Xena with her zest to experiment with new healing techniques ;-) This is funny and tender and for some of you I'm sure it will be familiar too! As an added bonus it features some nice new graphics from Pink Rabbit Productions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 8 pgs., 6/15/98

IN SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES by Llachlan
Xena, Gabrielle, Ares and Aphrodite all learn a little more about one another after the Goddess of Truth intervenes a bit in their lives. Some fun moments in this ;-) - 9 pgs., 7/13/98
http://www.merwolf.com/llachlan/SOMEONE.html

IN THE ARMS OF A GOD by T. Novan
The eight entry in the LEGENDS LEGACY SERIES finds Xena and Gabrielle getting used to their new life with Xena now fulfilling her destiny as Hade's daughter...but things haven't changed ALL that much ;-) Nostalgic and sweetly romantic. - 4 pgs., 3/27/00

[Palm Pilot version available at XENA FAN FICTION FOR THE PALM PILOT]

IN THE COMPANY OF TIGERS by Cath, Bard
Entertaining little story set during Xena and Gab's sojourn to India that has the bard taking advantage of her newly shorn looks to help the Warrior Princess stop a vicious cult. - 15 pgs., 11/18/99
http://www.amazontrails.com/xena/tigers.htm

IN THE COMPANY OF WARRIORS by Bard Blue
The story begun in Bard Blue's ANOTHER SECOND CHANCE continues as Xena and Gabrielle travel to Amphipolis for some quality time with Cyrene and with each other before moving on to Amazon territory where a deadly attack leaves them both gravely injured prompting another major decision from the Warrior Princess. Romance, mixed with a bit of hurt/comfort makes this one a nice read. [See the sequel THE DRUMS BEAT FOR YOU] - 15 pgs., 2/9/00
http://www.amazontrails.com/xena/companyofwarriors.htm

IN THE DARK by Ella Quince
Naughty little tale which has our girls showing concern for each others'...er..."health" while trapped in a cave... ;-) - 2 pgs., 6/97
https://ausxip.com/fanfic2/dark.html

**IN THE DOGHOUSE by T. Novan
One of the most amusing entries in the RAISING MELOSA SERIES, this little gem has the warrior getting in some hot water over a new addition to her family. Very cute. DO NOT MISS! - 7 pgs., 2/16/99
https://ausxip.com/fanfic6/inthedoghouse.html
[Palm Pilot version available at XENA FAN FICTION FOR THE PALM PILOT]

IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT by Nalysia
Amusing little story that has a VERY frustrated warrior and bard trying to get "reacquainted" while dealing with baby Eve. Sexy and cute. Nalysia does a nice job of showing the love amidst the more...er...physical aspects of the relationship. ;-) - 7 pgs., 12/10/00
http://www.xenaeyes.com/HeatOfNight.html

IN THE KINGDOM OF HORSES by Mary Morgan
An intriguing story set in a kingdom by the sea, Mary's latest has the warrior and bard answering a summons from one of Xena's old acquaintances - a troubled queen facing an ominous prophecy dating back to a time when the Warrior Princess herself was at the gates of the kingdom. Having set in motion the very darkness now threatening to destroy what she didn't destroy then - Xena prepares to set things right while a frightened bard wonders what price doing so will exact from her partner. With subtle clues spread throughout the story, this is a challenging mystery with solid portrayals of the mutual devotion and love between the leads. - 40 pgs., 10/22/00
https://www.altfic.com//subtextfic/Xena/morgan/inthekingdomofhorses1.htm

IN THE MIND'S EYE by Kat
An unusual new story set after the third season rift and just prior to the episode SACRIFICE which has Gabrielle and a convalescing Xena meeting a mysterious woman who seems to know a lot about them and is determined to make sure they share what is in their hearts. This story sets up an interesting premise with strong connections to third season events. - 90 pgs. 5/20/98
https://ausxip.com/fanfiction/i/inthemind1.html

IN THE MOMENT by Dhyanna
Amusing story that has the Warrior Princess and her bard arguing and strangely tense until they share a moment of sudden clarity. Cute :) - 2 pgs., 2/18/98
http://xwp-altfic.simplenet.com/in-the-moment.txt

IN THE NAME OF LOVE by Claire Withercross
Set prior to the third season, this entertaining little story was Claire's first-ever foray into Xena fanfic. Feeling increasingly apprehensive while traveling with Gabrielle through a forest, the warrior is less than pleased when an old nemesis makes an appearance offering a truce and asking to travel with them. During the days that follow, Xena is plagued by troubling thoughts, including the fear that she may hurt the person she loves above all else. Something is not right and the warrior is certain whatever it is has to do with her former nemesis. The story touches upon many of the familiar themes from seasons 1-2 - Xena's guilt over her past, revenge, redemption and the power of love. Nicely written. - 19 pgs., 6/18/00

**INCIDENT (THE) by Joanna
I really would LOVE for Lucy Lawless to read this piece of fan fiction. In light of the recent tribulations she's had in her life, I think this wonderful little skit would bring a smile to those baby blues. Joanna has our two fearless heroines, Xena and the Gabster of course, paying a visit to a certain actress named Lucy Lawless who is feeling a little down over a recent, embarrassing incident involving the American anthem. Although somewhat distracted by the wonder of infomercials, the warrior and her bard bring the entire incident into perspective for Lucy - and hopefully for ALL of us too. THIS IS A MUST READ!! - 9 pgs., 5/18/97

INN (THE) by T. Novan
The RAISING MELOSA SERIES continues as Mel begins to make a name for herself and Xena comes across a grateful family whose future she made possible. Nice sense of connection between the generations in this. - 7 pgs., 8/3/99

INNAMORATA by SL Bowers - [See the CHIAROSCURO SERIES]

INNOCENCE LOST by PatsBard
Set during the first season, this first-time story will remind veteran fanfic readers of the early alt. tales that first made the genre popular. Pairing the still rather rough ex-warlord with her painfully innocent companion, the story has an anxious-to-please Gabrielle determined to help Xena with her...battlelust. Amusing and sweet - this is a nostalgic visit to the early days of our favorite fanfic couple. - 5 pgs., 6/12/99
http://members.tripod.com/gabbywolf/fiction/il.htm

INSIDE, OUTSIDE by CN Winters
Set right after the events in the episode FAMILY AFFAIRS, this passionate new entry has Xena and the bard still in Poteidaia as they prepare to embark on a new life together. The choice is a difficult one to accept for Gabrielle's family but for the bard - there is no other choice. CN uses a shifting point-of-view technique here that is nicely effective as she reveals the thoughts of the different players. The characterizations are on the money, revealing a wonderful tenderness and devotion between warrior and bard. DO NOT MISS! - 9 pgs., 3/6/99
http://www.amazontrails.com/xena/inside.htm

INTERLUDE by Angharad Governal
Feeling guilty over not having yet finished her Conqueror novel METAMORPHOSIS, Governal shares with us this little vignette about one very sensual first time. I think we'll forgive her ;-) Beautiful. - 3 pgs., 4/17/99
http://home.earthlink.net/~governal/Interlude.htm

INTERLUDE by Beowolf
In parts this story is physically PAINFUL to read BUT...it is also very well written - offering a different perspective on the events which took place during and immediately after the episode RETURN OF CALLISTO. Beginning just after Gabrielle's marriage to Perdicus, it is based on the premise that Callisto did not succeed in killing the man on the day after his marriage. In this story Xena saves the one-time farmer and soon finds herself in a living Tartarus - traveling with BOTH Gabrielle and the bard's husband - desperately trying to keep her feelings for the young woman hidden while searching for a way to separate their lives forever. Gabrielle soon recognizes in her own heart the feelings reflected back at her from pale blue eyes only now vows to another stand in the way, vows which may keep her from grasping the happiness that has been within her reach all along. Emotionally gripping, this story is going to make you thank the gods for Callisto >:) - 53 pgs., 10/22/97
http://xwp-altfic.simplenet.com/interlude.txt

INTERMEZZO by SL Bowers
Ephiny recalls the first time she met the Warrior Princess - an encounter which took place while Xena was still a brutal warlord - a moment in time the warrior does not even seem to remember but which Ephiny will never forget. Bowers characterization of Ephiny is very well done in this original story. - 8 pgs., 11/24/97

**INTERVIEW WITH THE FORTUNATE ONE by Danae
At LONG last for all of you who've been waiting with bated breath (or breathing heavy as it were ;-) comes an interview with the reigning darling of the Xenaverse - yes folks - Lao Ma herself!! An exclusive from the queen of talk shows no less who most definitely "gets with the program!" Be warned that this is a SERIOUS threat to your funny bone concluding with a line certain to become a classic of XWP alt. fic. One of the best parodies I've ever read. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :) - 4 pgs., 12/10/97
https://ausxip.com/fanfic/fortunate.html

INTERWOVEN by Stacia
Sweet vignette about a tired bard and a very attentive warrior. Rather relaxing little piece. - 2 pgs., 9/17/99
http://www.xenafan.com/fiction/content5/stacia_interwoven.html

INTIMATE CONVERSATION (AN) by Jackie F.
A very strong debut for a new bard, this short tale is set after the events in the episode SIEGE OF AMPHIPOLIS and has Xena and Gabrielle beginning to tentatively address the recent distance between them. Sensitively written and with a solid depiction of both leads, the story offers a particularly poignant insight, SORELY missing from the TV series, on how the recent changes in Xena's life have impacted on her parter. DO NOT MISS! - 5 pgs., 3/26/00
https://ausxip.com/fanfiction/a/anintimate-jackie.html

**INTO THE LIGHT by de Bonheur
De Bonheur's tenth entry in the LONG IS THE WAY SERIES deals with Xena's greatest fear as she comes close to losing her bard in a fight. De Bonheur writes with a very unique, almost poetic style that lends passion and beauty to the words and which is distinctly suited to the themes she is exploring. This is very nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 7 pgs., 10/25/97
