A story set in ancient times, about a warrior, a bard...and a toothache?? Yeap! ;-) BAD toothache! Really, PAINFUL toothache! I'll let you discover the subtleties of this delightful little read all on your own. Suffice it to say that it will MAKE your day! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY by Becky Lutzke and Christine Toups
Riveting story which begins with Xena and Gabrielle parting company for a short while so each can visit their respective families. It is a decision the warrior will live to regret as unbeknownst to her Gabrielle is quickly plunged into the worst nightmar e of her life - a nightmare which soon enough will become Xena's own. This story is well-written, and wonderfully suspenseful. It is a drama poised to test the Xena/Gab friendship. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

CHILDISH GAMES by Ella Quince
This is a long-time favorite of mine which with its release now on the Web will likely become a favorite of many other readers as well. It is a beautiful, POIGNANT story that in revealing a part of Gabrielle's past Xena had previously not known about, op ens up a whole new future for them. It begins at an inn where the warrior and bard come upon an old acquaintance of Gabrielle's - a childhood friend from Poteidaia whose presence unnerves the bard and has Xena wondering why? Wonderful writing, a solid p resentation and original, well-defined characterizations combined to make this an exemplary read. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
