TUESDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 12/16/97
[Previous report was for 12/14/97]
Hi guys,
Tonight I'm passing along a suggestion for ALL bards out there which I received from a NetForum user named Jamie. Jamie is requesting that bards please include their e-mail addresses and
NOT just links to their e-mail addresses on their fan fiction. Bards at times include in their stories a link for fans to click so they can send them feedback. The link may read something like this:
Please send feedback to Lunacy
The "Lunacy" will be a link on the Web page. This is convenient IF a reader happens to be on the Web and can just click on the "Lunacy" to send a message. However, readers OFTEN save stories or print them out to read later. When they do this a line like the one above will not help them. If they don't remember WHERE they found a story so they can go back to the site, with a line like the one above they have NO idea what the bard's e-mail addy is.
MUCH more convenient is for bards to write something like this:
Please send feedback to Lunacy at lunacy@dc.seflin.org
This line INCLUDES the actual e-mail addy so anyone who prints the story or saves it for later reading will have the addy at hand for any feedback they wish to provide.
I myself get a lot of request from readers asking me how they can contact bards because they don't have the e-mail addresses so BARDS - if you want to make it easier for your fans to respond to you, use that FULL e-mail address!
Here's tonight's report - short but sweet :)
GENERAL FICTION:
THE SEASON OF GIVING by Barry Marshall
Nice story sure to put you in the Solstice spirit that has the Warrior Princess taking a little vacation and reminiscing about what her bard companion has come to mean to her.

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:
SATURDAY NIGHT IN OLD GREECE by Zealander
Very cute little parody that has Gabrielle a bit addicted to alt. fan fiction and a frustrated Warrior Princess doing without ;-) This maaaaaaaaaaaay sound familiar to some of you out there :)

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
Happy reading!
