Hi guys,

For those of you who hadn't discovered this little gem yet I wanted to mention BARRON'S GALLERY which among other things feature his FABULOUS fan fiction covers!! Barron is a big fan of our many great bards and one VERY creative Xenite. His fan fiction covers are as much fun as the stories themselves! His two newest ones for Lala's story GOT MILK? and DJWP's WHAT ARE LITTLE GIRLS MADE OF? are particularly precious while the one for Bat's BROKEN ARROW I think has become a classic by now. THE TRIAL OF XENA by Onora
Chapters 16-17 of this story are now available. This thought-provoking, poignant tale has Xena and Gabrielle spending time with Hercules and Iolus when Athenian soldiers arrive to at last bring the Warrior Princess to justice. It is a development that will test Xena's commitment to justice even as it tests her friends' desperate need to protect her. In these latest chapters, a frustrated Xena tries to find out what may have happened to her missing friends. Still unfinished, the story is developing very nicely. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

PASSAGE INTO DARKNESS by Silk
Part two of this story is now available. Acting as a sequel to Silk's excellent A CROWN OF LAUREL, this is the second installment in the SWORD OF WAR TRILOGY. Starting immediately after the first story, PASSAGE INTO DARKNESS has Xena and the bard trying to escape from Rome, trying also to deal with some of the unresolved issues between them, even as the gods of Olympus become aware of the incredible shift in power that has occurred within their ranks. This tale easily continues the sense of uncertainty and fear the first story gave birth to, further submerging our heroines into a struggle they may not be able to survive. THEODICY by D. Joan Leib
Chapters 4-6 of this story are now available. Set after BETRAYAL - THE DEBT II, this sequel to APOTHEOSIS presents a very tense situation between Xena and Gabrielle just as they receive a summons from the Amazon Nation requesting the bard's presence. Aware of her responsibilities, Gabrielle prepares herself to try to deal with the problems of the Amazons, all the while wondering if her relationship with the warrior has been irreparably damaged. Still unfinished, this story is emotional, well-written and VERY promising!

TO RESCUE A FRIEND by Katelin B.
Part 3 in this Book I of the series DEATH OF A NATION is now available. This is a VERY promising, well-written story that beautifully captures the heart of the Amazon nation in a poignant, dramatic, tale that has the Amazons facing a very real threat to their future. On the eve prior to the start of a war they did not ask for but cannot run away from, a troubled Ephiny asks Xena to lead the Amazons into battle - she herself preferring to fight alongside her sisters as a simple warrior. With Gabrielle in Poteidaia visiting her family, Xena agrees - knowing full well the heavy odds facing the Amazons. None of them, however, suspect the true extent of the danger that awaits them but it is a sense of this danger that prompts a Warrior Princess to examine her heart with regards to a certain bard...and to counsel a friend to do the same with her own heart. In this new part, Xena and Ephiny struggle for their very lives as the Amazons plan a rescue. Featuring an excellent depiction of Ephiny, this story already has the feel of an epic. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
