SATURDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 1/30/99

Hi all,

The ULTIMATE XENA FAN FICTION DIRECTORY is gonna be offline from February 1-8 while they do some upgrades to the site so don't panic if you don't find them during that time - they promise to be back. Sad news to report. THE JOURNEY CONTINUES site will be closing its doors March 1 so fanfic readers - make SURE to save any stories you want from there before that date. The site does feature some exclusive stories which may not appear at another site later so I STRONGLY urge you to save those. The site is at: http://www.timwellman.ramlink.net/xena/

Also, for those bards who have stories archived at THE JOURNEY CONTINUES, if your stories aren't archived at another Web site I would ask you on behalf of all fanfic lovers to please keep them available on the Web by moving them to another site. I consider it a tragedy when the Xenaverse loses fanfic and I'll be HOUNDING you until I see those stories elsewhere so if only to save yourself from the wrath of a Lunatic please keep those stories available ;-)

Sizzling story that has the warrior and bard confessing the truth about their relationship to Gabrielle's family and then opting for an Amazon ceremony to make things official. The word "insatiable" comes to mind when reading this fun entry ;-) - 62 pgs.

WARLORD METAL by Redhawk
Part 2 is now available. Redhawk continues a tradition of original, well-written uber fanfic with a new tale set in the world of Heavy Metal music where teenager Sonny Middlestead soon finds herself drawn to the new singer for her brother's band - a troubled young woman with striking green eyes who comes from the streets and is carrying more emotional baggage than Sonny could ever suspect. In this latest part Sonny becomes ever more intrigued by the enigmatic Jordan while the band singer reveals a protective side. Blurring the lines between the Xena/Gab uber archetypes, this story is delivering some nicely sensitive characterizations of two people as different as night and day forming an unlikely friendship in a world that doesn't often make life easy. For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
