SUNDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 2/22/98
[Previous report was for 2/19/98]
Hi all,
Xenos' much-loved fan fiction index has now returned to the Web under new management and with a new title - THE XENAVERSE CODEX: THE BARDEYES & XENABAT LIBRARY is now located at: http://xenafiction.net/
A very special thanks on behalf of ALL fanfic readers to Xenos for starting this index and for the work she did for two years on it. Congratulations and MANY THANKS to Bardeyes and Xenabat for taking over the project.
Also, we have another fan fiction index now available. THE ULTIMATE FAN FICTION DIRECTORY at this URL: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Museum/3702/index.html
The site currently has available a WHAT'S NEW page and a listing of ALTERNATIVE FICTION with plans for much more in the works.
Tonight's report features two new ones and an update - all alt. stories.
ALTERNATIVE FICTION:
UNTIL XENA by Georgia
This is one of the first new fanfic pieces we are likely to get in the months ahead which attempt to deal with the post-rift situation between Xena and Gabrielle. Georgia's offering is an emotional vignette which has the two still dealing with the aftermath of the past several months, suffering nightmares and wondering in silence where their relationship is going. Nicely done.

THE HEART'S FURIES by GabTbard
Set immediately after the episode THE FURIES, this new story has Xena and the bard still traveling with Cyrene when circumstances lead to their finding an old acquaintance of Xena - a woman with unusual insight who can see what is in the hearts of the two friends despite their reluctance to admit it. The story features a very sweet, loving depiction of the Xena/Gab relationship.

PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY by Paul Seely and Jennifer Garza
Part 4 of this story is now available. This is the highly anticipated sequel to one of the best uber-Xena stories available on the Net, SURFACING. Part one is now available and I have to tell you folks - it does NOT disappoint! Already this looks
like it's going to rival Paul and Jennifer's first story as one wildly exiting ride! Featuring one VERY deadly encounter between a trained killer and the men assigned to protect its quarry, the opening sequence is a gripping combination of suspense, action, intrigue and pathos - set in sharp contrast to the scenes which follow as we see Diana and Charlie enjoying domestic life. The months of tranquillity, however, have not affected the ex-agent's razor-sharp senses which soon enough are warning her that the peace she's been enjoying may just be coming to an end. In this latest part, Charlie learns more about Diana's time in Japan. As in
SURFACING, Paul and Jennifer do here an outstanding job of imbuing their writing with a very contemporary "feel". The relationship between Diana and Charlie is characterized by an easiness between them - a level of comfort that reveals their love even in the smallest of gestures. Excellent writing and excellent storytelling. DO NOT MISS!! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
Happy reading!
