PROMISES TO KEEP: A TALE OF SHERWOOD by L. Graham
A poignant, nicely written sequel to L. Graham's first uber-Xena story SHERWOOD which finds Xan of Locksley and her beloved Gabrielle happy at last, awaiting the birth of Gabrielle's baby. Unfortunately it is a hap piness they wont be able to enjoy for long as Xan gets word of an impending attack and must go off to fight the forces of Prince John, including a valiant knight who is determined to bring the Butcher of Sherwood to justice. Featuring some wonderful flashbacks and a few VERY amusing references to the lives of a certain warrior and bard, this is a rousing tale with some surprising twists and a very sweet love story.

ALL THE COLORS OF THE WORLD by Vivian Darkbloom
Part 2 of this story is now available. Original and well-written, this new Mel/Janice story has the Southerner and archeologist seeing each other for the first time after their initial meeting in Macedonia. Joining forces again to work on translating a newly discovered scroll, the two women begin uncovering also their feelings for one another but it is the warrior and bard from an Ancient time that will show them how to take a chance on love. In this second part, Mel seems to sense the love Xena and Ga brielle once shared even as we see flashbacks of the two ancient companions getting ready to profess that love. Still unfinished, this story is wonderfully promising. DO NOT MISS!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RIFT by RavensTale
Chapter 4 of this story is now available. This is a clever new tale set after the events in THE DEBT which has Ares offering Xena the chance to go back in time and change some of the horrific experiences she and Gabrielle have recently endured. In this latest part, Xena endures Ares and thinks of her bard as she heads for Brittania. Nice writing and an interesting premise give this one lots of potential.

Chapters 5-7 of this story are now available. Janice and Mel are off on a new adventure when a vicious attack in Turkey forces them to go on the run. In these newest chapters, the archeologist and her partner share a traumatic experience at sea.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
