An absolutely PRECIOUS little vignette that reveals what happens to a warrior and bard when they start to become aware of certain...limitations in their relationship. This one will have you grinning ear to ear! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

COMING HOME by CN Winters
The conclusion of this VERY nice sequel to CN Winter's HOMECOMING is now available. The story has Xena and Gabrielle returning from the island of Lesbo - anxious to tell their friends and family about their joining there. Among the different reactions to the news, one in particular, from an unsuspecting source, will suddenly turn their world upside down, threatening the bond they've forged together and cruelly denying them the simple comfort of each other. In this final part the warrior and bard find an ally to help in their cause and it MUST be Spring because love is DEFINITELY in the air ;-) Featuring lots of romance, humor and some nicely emotional moments, this story is HIGHLY RECOMMEDED!

FORESTS OF EYULF: INSTINCTS OF BLUE by Tammy
Part two of this story is now available. Tammy's second XWP tale is a highly unusual uber-Xena story set in the distant future that revolves around two warring races - the humans of Nadir and the Ulfr people of the forests of Eyulf whose unusual abilities include the power to shapeshift into wolves. Leading one of the Ulfr packs is Zya - a stunningly beautiful, powerful warrior whose hatred of the Nadir runs deep but who finds herself suddenly at odds with that hatred when she's compelled to save a young Nadir female after the girl loses everything and is badly injured in an Ulfr attack. In this second part Zya vigilantly tries to keep her charge safe as danger threatens. Still unfinished, this story is very promising.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RIFT by RavensTale
Chapter 5 of this story is now available. This is a clever new tale set after the events in THE DEBT which has Ares offering Xena the chance to go back in time and change some of the horrific experiences she and Gabrielle have recently endured. In this latest part, destiny is revealed as a force that cannot be escaped. Nice writing and an interesting premise give this one lots of potential.

REFLECTIONS FROM THE PAST by Melissa Good
Part 3 of this story is now available. Already responsible for six of the most popular, most loved XWP stories on the Net, Missy latest is a combination uber-Xena/clip show story which already looks like it will easily match the outstanding body of work bearing this writer's name. As the story begins Xena and her bard are still hibernating in Amphipolis, enjoying the peace of their home and the simple comfort of just being with one another. They decide to work on translating the ancient scrolls they found while visiting Jessan's people in BOUND. Before long they are uncovering an emotional tale, almost as passionate and poignant as their own, involving a village girl named Ardwyn and the enigmatic Viking warrior who captures her heart. All the while the story revealed in those scrolls is awakening memories in Xena and Gabrielle, memories of the times they've shared and the long road they've traveled to get to the happiness they're now blessed with. In this latest part, warrior and bard once again face adversity as a tragic accident threatens their happiness. Missy's flashbacks continue to be among the best in the business, giving us insights into scenes from the TV show and filling in the time in between episodes like no other fan fiction has ever done. The uber sections in this story are also particularly well written - done in a style that is different from the rest of the novel and adds tremendously to the atmosphere of the more ancient story. In a rather angst-filled third season, this newest Missy offering is a godsend folks! What are you still doing reading this review?? GO READ THE STORY!!! It gets my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
