AN OLD PROMISE by Ella Quince
A VERY dark piece which seems very much in keeping with some of the characterizations and themes we've been seeing in the third season. The tale has an injured Xena regaining consciousness only to discover a reality she's not certain she wants to face. Intense, emotional and thought-provoking, this tale is a MUST READ. DO NOT MISS!

RATE THE HUNKS by Barron and His Femme Alter Ego Karen
A hilarious new offering that has this very creative bard and his alter ego Karen rating all the various hunks that have appeared on Xena: Warrior Princess. VERY cute and well-worth the read.

GUILT, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS by B L Miller
One of our most talented bards returns with a FANTASTIC new post-rift story which finds the warrior and bard forced into dealing with some of the unresolved issues still between them. Set immediately after the events in BITTER SUITE, the story has Xena and Gabrielle attempting to resume the life they were leading together prior to their fateful trip to Britannia - only the recent past soon comes back to haunt them when the bard starts to have problems with her vision - problems which set off a warning bell within the Warrior Princess, reminding her of an ugliness she's been desperately trying to forget. The Xena and Gabrielle B.L. presents are two women who love one another deeply but are still very much immersed in guilt. Her story traces their path toward the discovery of that love as they begin to accept also the forgiveness in their hearts. Known for her passionate tales, B.L. delivers here one that beyond the passion is perhaps one of her most tenderly romantic to date. A beautiful read which receives my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

DARK PROMISE by Katrina
With two chapters now available, this latest entry in Katrina's BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES already promises to be one wild, fun ride. A crossover tale featuring the characters from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, this story has Buffy getting quite a surprise when she meets Willow's aunts who aside from having the same names as a couple of popular TV characters, also keep setting off the slayer's hypersensitive senses. Katrina's characterizations are on the money and will delight fans of both series although this is entertaining even if you only watch one of them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

ASUNDER by Tendre
A unique mixture of drama and the crazy humor Tendre is known for, this FANTASTIC story has the Warrior Princess agreeing to become a general in the army of Phillip, King of Macedon, as he prepares to go to war against the Persians. Xena's hope in taking the position is to be able to offer Gabrielle some stability in their lives but the bard is not as certain about the decision. Gabrielle is immediately suspect of the way in which bards are being used to spread Phillip's propaganda and most importantly, she soon starts to fear the change taking place within Xena as the Warrior Princess once again finds herself in her element, at the head of a great army, preparing for war. With Xena off to fight in Phillip's ill-fated war, Gabrielle remains behind in Athens to fight a battle of her own against enemies who in the king's absence plan to take over the city. Separated from her bard, Xena finally comes to realize just how much Gabrielle means to her but as danger envelopes them both, it is a revelation she may never be able to share with the girl from Potidaea. Written in a semi-script style, this is unlike anything you have ever read before - filled with equal parts hilarious comedy and poignant drama - a story of EPIC proportions that I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
