HEART OF WINTER by Psyk
Psyk joins the ranks of Xenite bards with a very entertaining, nicely written tale set in Amphipolis to which Xena has returned after learning that a very deadly and very twisted former acquaintance of hers has amassed an army with the intent of sacking the town. With Gabrielle by her side she begins calling up forces of her own, preparing for a battle even as she finds herself surrendering at long last to the bard's gentle attack on her heart. Featuring a solid mixture of action, humor and romance, Psyk's story gives the Xena/Gab partnership a very appealing intensity and dedication as they take the first steps from friendship into something more. Excellent first effort. DO NOT MISS! - 43 pgs.

WHATEVER BROUGHT US TO THIS MOMENT by My Warrior
A follow-up to My Warrior's NOW I REMEMBER, this new entry has the warrior and her bard still in Amphipolis while Gabrielle recuperates from her recent injury. It's a peaceful time that allows both women to reflect on their years together and their love for one another while Cyrene herself reflects on the course her daughter's life has taken. Nice reaffirmation of the Xena/Gab relationship. - 7 pgs.

BURNING TIME by Sandakat
Combining several uber tales into one Sandakat sets her story in modern-day Los Angeles where a chance meeting at a hospital between Doctor Rene Covington and firefighter Dina Pakadios sets in motion a reunion of soulmates that has taken place many times before - in Ancient Greece, then again centuries later on the streets of London and most recently amidst the drama of a world at war. Drawn by a connection neither quite understands but both feel very strongly, the two start to unravel a puzzle centuries old. Sandakat presents a satisfying depiction of the relationship while cleverly linking the different uber incarnations of our heroines. - 81 pgs.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
