ALTERNATIVE FICTION:
VERY LIKE A WHALE by Mike
An EXCEPTIONALLY charming new story that has a frustrated bard having trouble teaching her Warrior Princess about the finer things in life and then deciding to prove a point when the two are accosted by ruffians. Mike's handling of the Xena/Gab relationship is on the money - sweet and playfully competitive. GREAT characterization of the bard in her element! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! [Note: Story is not explicit]

THE HAPPY PRINCESS: A XENAVERSE FAERY TALE by Nene Adams
Nene's latest entry in the XENAVERSE FAERY TALE series is a poignant, bittersweet story about enduring love and sacrifice. Set in Amphipolis years after the death of Xena, the city's most renowned citizen, the tale begins with an old, staff-wielding beggar woman bitterly trying to set the record straight about the Warrior Princess when students visiting a statue of the famed hero are told only about her good deeds. That night the statue comes to life asking the one who knew her in life better than anyone else for help...one last time. Kleenex alert on this very worthy read which carries a warning about opportunities lost while celebrating the everlasting power of love. DO NOT MISS! [Note: Story is not explicit]

GOLDEN HAIR AND THE THREE URSAE: A XENAVERSE FAERY TALE by Nene Adams
These faery tales of Nene's just keep getting better and better! This latest one has Xena in the role of storyteller as she shares with Gabrielle the story of how she once disguised herself in order to steal a fabulous jewel from the three best...and most dangerous thieves in Greece. The lengths the warrior had to go to in order to achieve her objective will have you grinning from ear to ear! HIGHLY RECOMMNEDED! [See XENAVERSE FAERY TALE for other titles in the series].

CHICAGO 5AM by L.N. James
Chapter 8 of this story is now available. Teenagers are disappearing from the streets of Chicago, casualties of a dark subculture based on drugs, sex and rock and roll. Assigned to investigate is Mariel Potidean, a brilliant young FBI agent who soon finds herself teamed with a rather irritating partner - an ex-cop by the name of Tina Amphipoli with a dangerous reputation, a mysterious past and electric blue eyes. In this latest chapter another innocent victim enters a very seedy world while Mariel learns more about her enigmatic new partner. L.N.'s newest delivers an engaging premise with two very strong characters and lots of potential for suspense, drama and romance. DO NOT MISS!

THE SECRETS OF THE HOARY DEEP by de Bonheur
Part three of this FANTASTIC follow up to de Bonheur's AND FAIR TRUTH is now available. This is an uber-Xena story set in post-WWI France where a young aristocrat named Michelle Destin finds herself in the middle of an intriguing mystery involving a very old painting...and the enigmatic woman that soon comes into her life. Meanwhile, in Elysia a certain warrior and bard enjoy the happiness they earned long ago, thinking of the life they made together, but wanting also to help the living children of their blood find that happiness. In this latest part the present reawakens memories of the past. Still unfinished, this story is wonderfully promising. De Bonheur does an excellent job presenting the aristocratic element of post-WWI Parisian society. Meanwhile, as in her previous stories, the Xena/Gab relationship is depicted with great care, great passion and great tenderness. Still unfinished this story is already a fine read. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RIFT by RavensTale
Chapters 9-10 of this story are now available. Set after the events in THE DEBT, this is a clever, nicely written tale that has Ares offering Xena the chance to go back in time and change some of the horrific experiences she and Gabrielle have recently endured. It is a chance the Warrior Princess will take never considering the many twists of fate she could soon be experiencing. In this latest part, as Xena prepares to exact retribution, the powers of evil close in around an unsuspecting bard. Still unfinished but with a solid premise, RavensTale story is great entertainment.
