PROTECTOR OF NATIONS by PruferBlue
Xena and Gabrielle return to Amazonia just as the Amazons are facing a challenge that could potentially destroy them forever. In the former warlord, however, they will find the experience to deal with that challenge and the fierce inspiration only the Warrior Princess can stir. This is a very nicely written new story that recalls the best of this TV series. Featuring very solid characterizations reminiscent of the second season, it is a MUST READ! DO NOT MISS!

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

KEEPING FAITH by Brit Bard
A very satisfying read that is light-hearted and emotional, funny and poignant all at once. Set after the events in the episode ONE AGAINST AN ARMY it follows Xena and Gabrielle as they proceed on their journey away from the battle at Tripolis on their way to buy the convalescent bard her boots. Glad to have survived all they've endured recently and to still be together, the two revel in each others company - making no secret of their love and passion even as they trust one another again with their fears, their regrets and even their anger. Brit Bard gives us here two really excellent characterizations that feel very real, very human in a story that is exclusively about the relationship and the determined faith these two women have in one another. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

MIDNIGHT CONFESSION by Darkone
Heart-breaking short story set after the episode FORGET ME NOT which has Gabrielle confessing to the warrior some other memories she can now remember from their trip to Britannia. Emotional and intense.

HERITAGE by Angeleeta Sosnowski
Set a couple of years after the events in the third season, the first three chapters of this story has Xena and Gabrielle joining forces with a mysterious old friend of the warrior's to try to destroy a deadly evil they are all very familiar with. An intriguing story with promise.

PASSOVER by Joseph Connell
Part two is now available. The talented author of ALL SOUL'S NIGHT contributes yet another entry in Katrina's BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES with this new uber story set in apocalyptic America. With billions dead after a series of disasters and plagues, the world has settled back into a simpler reality where the strong survive and safety can be found in numbers. It is a philosophy Leah Margareeth Covington understands all too well as she leads a group of pilgrims across dangerous territories in search of a new life. With the blood of heros in her veins Leah is determined to protect her charges but unseen enemies may give her more of a challenge than she had been expecting. In this latest section Leah's caravan encounter the dangers of the night. Joseph's latest is well-written, different, and very promising.

LEAP OF FAITH by Missy Good
Part six of this story is now being posted. So consistent she'd probably never make it as a character in a third season episode of XWP, Missy returns with the beginnings of what promises to be another exceptional XWP novel. Set about a month after the events in DARKNESS FALLS, the story begins with the warrior and bard recovering nicely from their recent ordeals, rejoicing in the healing their relationship is experiencing. The sense of things in fact returning back to normal becomes even more pronounce when they visit Poteidaia and once again find people in need of their help, people looking to the Warrior Princess when no other hope remains. Unbeknownst to them, trouble is stirring in other parts too, as danger envelops a dear friend. In this latest section, Xena and the bard resume their life in Amphipolis as Ephiny recuperates and they all wait for justice. Featuring exceptional writing, masterful storytelling, Missy's endearing sense of humor, and one of the most beloved depictions of the Xena/Gab relationship in fanfic this is another treat for us all guys. A MUST READ that receives my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

CHOSEN (THE) by B.S. Barber
The conclusion of this story is now available. Xena and Gabrielle must finally face their feelings for one another when another protective warrior comes into the bard's life with a mysterious agenda. In these final chapters things come to a head between the two friends as the stranger's mission becomes clear.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
