SUNDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 5/24/98

Hi guys,

Putting out a call for HELP tonight :) As many of you know we now have three fantastic sites on the Web which index all those great fanfic stories we enjoy so much:

The Webmasters who maintain these sites do an awesome job providing links to most of the fanfic out there. However, they have stopped providing links to fan fiction stories posted on the XENA NETFORUM because of the difficulties involved in tracking fanfic on there. The NetForum tends to be slow, sometimes stories aren't appropriately labeled as fanfic, sometimes stories are started and never finished, etc. Shadowfen and the Webmasters maintaining the ULTIMATE FAN FICTION DIRECTORY would like to provide links to the fanfic stories but need assistance in order to do so. If you haven't figured it out by now - this is a HELP WANTED notice :)

If you're willing to regularly track the fan fiction on the NetForum and work with these Webmasters please consider volunteering your services. Knowledge of HTML is not needed - just a willingness to visit the NetForum regularly, peruse that fanfic and send the appropriate information to the indexers. Also of course, a desire to contribute something to the Xenaverse :) A LOT of fanfic is posted on the NetForum guys. Many of our BEST bards started out by posting stories there and we continue to get some real nice ones so I HATE the thought of these stories not being available down the line. Unfortunately, because posts on the NetForum scroll off the screen after a day or two unless that fanfic is indexed it becomes very difficult to locate. I myself don't review NetForum stories until they are permanently archived at a regular fan fiction Web site so my reviews don't offer a way of locating the NetForum-only stories either.

ONLY ONE by Redhawk
This is a promising HIGHLANDER/XWP crossover story set in the modern world which has the one-time Warrior Princess, now a deadly immortal, getting the shock of her life when she sees a familiar face lost to her centuries before. Still unfinished this is nicely written and should be particularly entertaining for fans of both series.

LUCIFER RISING by SL Bowers
Part three of this story is now available. Joining the many gems we've been seeing lately in Xena uber fiction comes this VERY unusual, riveting new story set in the glamorous and often deadly underworld of Miami - a world in which wealth, and seductive pleasures exist side by side with violence and death. For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
