Hi guys,

Misschf and Aisa are now once again making their fanfic available through the new MISSCHF'S AND AISA'S XENA TALES. The site is located at http://members.aol.com/xenatales/

A reminder to you bard types out there that there's a BETA READERS DIRECTORY now available with over forty beta readers listed. These are Xenites who are volunteering to read stories with the specific intent of providing feedback so writers can make their fiction the best it can be prior to publishing it on the Web. Beta readers can really do wonders for a story helping the writer to spot not only technical errors but inconsistencies in the plots, problems with the characterizations, etc. They can help bards not only improve their stories but become better writers so if you write Xena fanfic or are considering doing so, please think about using beta readers. Set during and just after the events in the episode IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE this is a touching story about recognizing love and opening one's heart to it. Very nice.

XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS - THE CHEESY FOURTH SEASON OPENER by BladeMstrs
Hands DOWN one of the most enjoyable stories I've read this year and at the top of my list of fanfic that I'd like to see turned into an episode. For all of you who had trouble with season three this comes VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :) :) (Note: story is not explicit - it's BETTER than explicit! ;-)

A FORK IN THE ROAD by BairdBard
Part 2 is now available. A very unusual uber-Xena story that begins at a meeting for alcoholics where a very nervous Brie, there for a first time with a friend, meets a mysterious loner named Zim. It is a meeting of the souls that neither quite understands but which sparks an instant connection between them. In this second part Brie starts to sink into the hell of detoxification. Nicely written, this story has a very different, contemporary theme. Quite promising. DO NOT MISS!!

PROMISES KEPT by Missy Good
Part three is now being posted. After another of her LOOOOONG absences ;-) this bard-extraordinaire returns with the sequel to LEAP OF FAITH which finds the warrior and bard getting on with their lives, making plans for both the weeks ahead...and the years they plan to spend together. For Xena this involves some final preparations for their upcoming trip to see friends and family...for the bard it means taking the first steps in turning a wish into reality. In this latest section, the warrior and bard end their visit with Gabrielle's family to go see about a debt Xena owes an old acquaintance. There are things about a Missy story that just seem automatic these days - solid, sensitively drawn portrayals of our two heroines, beautiful writing with rich images and lots of heartfelt exchanges, a terrific supporting cast and one of the most heart-warming depictions of the Xena/Gab relationship in fanfic. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

CHICAGO 5AM by L.N. James
Chapters 24-25 of this story are now available. Teenagers are disappearing from the streets of Chicago, casualties of a dark subculture based on drugs, sex and rock and roll. Assigned to investigate is Mariel Potidean, a brilliant young FBI agent who soon finds herself teamed with a mysterious and decidedly fascinating partner - an ex-cop by the name of Tina Amphipoli with a dangerous reputation, a mysterious past and electric blue eyes. In these latest chapters, Tina and Mariel grow ever closer to the predator they're stalking even as the attraction between them intensifies. L.N.'s newest delivers an engaging premise with two very strong heroines, lots of suspense, drama and some thoroughly engaging romantic sparks. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
