Hey all!

Tremendous news!! The first submissions for the Second Xenite Bard Contest are now available - 5 new stories and several poems! Start reading guys. Voting will run through July 20th. The contest web site is at:

GENERAL FICTION:

FACE OF REDEMPTION by John Syverud
Parts 2-4 of this story are now available. A name from the past stirs bad memories for Xena when she and Gabrielle save a woman from the ruins of a village destroyed by a vicious warlord. In these latest installments a guilt-ridden Xena is brought to the edge of darkness as she realizes one of her old cronies is responsible for the destruction now around her. Despondent she abandons Gabrielle only to realize later that the young bard is the one person capable of shinning light in that darkness.

Gabrielle teaches the Warrior Princess how to play golf. Think of this story as Xena "TAKES THE GREEN!!!" Absolutey hilarious even if you don't play golf.

DRAGON'S CHILD (THE) by Domenica
A very passionate and very different look at the Xena and Gabrielle relationship as it progresses from the day they first met to the time when having experienced both the happiness of loving one another and the pain of separation, they can finally decide as equals what they each need to feel complete. The plot structure in this story is very original and works exceedingly well in conveying a sense of time and in revealing the feelings of these two women. Well done.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
