ALTERNATIVE FAN FICTION:

A QUEST OF A DIFFERENT COLOR by Vada Foster
Set immediately after the episode THE QUEST, this new skit is in a word - HILARIOUS!! Certainly a very different take on the events following Xena's untimely demise. Gabrielle here is slightly ticked off at her companion for dying and leaving her stranded in the middle of nowhere. Having purchased a sarcophagus from an old acquaintance now in a new line of business, the bard sets off with Xena's body in tow and some friends who want to help including a strange feline named Princess with eyes the color of Xena's and an affinity for Gabrielle's billous green sports bra ;-) Very cute story with a great cast of characters.

THE PELOPONNESIAN WAR - BOOK I: PRECURSORS by Baermer
Parts 4-5 of this story are now available. This story continues the tale begun in Baermer's excellent THE ELEUSINIAN MYSTERIES (review at https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/alt.htm). Set in an epic period of Ancient Greek history amidst the saga of the Peloponnesian War, this story has Xena and Gabrielle returning to Eleusis where they have once again been summoned by the king, this time to discuss a developing situation which the king fears will soon result in an all out war. Joining them is Pericles, the most powerful Athenian leader and his companion Aspasia - an old acquaintance of Xena's who the warrior fears may be adding fuel to the fires already being fanned by the approaching winds of war. In this second installment Xena and Gabrielle look into the growing disatisfaction among the Eleusinians with the Athenian leadership and soon find themselves in a very dangerous situation as a result. This story is not explicit so far.

ENEMY MINE by G.L. Dartt
In this unusual story, Xena returns to the village she left Gabrielle in to go on a mission only to find the bard gone and the townspeople reluctant to tell her what happened. Desperate, she initiates an interrogation which comes to an abrupt end soon after when a VERY unlikely ally makes an appearance.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
