I include a SPECIAL SECTION at the end of this report listing a new VOYAGER story for those of you who like me are getting quickly hooked by Janeway and Seven of Nine :)

Also, in my report for Wednesday July 1 and in the REVISION which followed I included a bad URL for the story ONLY ONE by Redhawk so I'm including that one again with an address which leads to the first part and gives you access to all the other parts written so far. I've tested this URL three times and as of 10:15pm EST it is WORKING!!! ;-)

The first installment in Silk's new TALES FROM THE BARD SERIES, this is a beautifully written piece that has Gabrielle telling a frightened little girl a clever story about the gods after the two of them are trapped in a cave-in. Sweet story that celebrates Gabrielle's abilities as a storyteller. DO NOT MISS!

Spooky story that has Xena and Gabrielle trying to track down a number of missing children only to discover that an old tale told to children to make them behave may not be entirely fictional after all.

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

THE AMPHIPOLIS EXPEDITION by Felioness
A fascinating new futuristic uber story set in the final years of a dying Earth which has a young doctor named Brie O'Conner landing one of the coveted spots aboard an expedition to colonize a distant planet and hopefully ensure the survival of the human race. It is a bittersweet moment for most of the colonists as they prepare to leave everyone and everything they've known to embark on a journey that will take decades but they do so with faith in the tall, beautiful commander Xandra Lawless whose determination and strength inspires them all and soon begins to intrigue a certain doctor as well. Great potential in this story which already features nice development in the characterization. DO NOT MISS! [unfinished]

ONLY ONE by Redhawk
Parts 5-7 are now available. This is a fantastic HIGHLANDER/XWP crossover story set in the modern world which has the one-time Warrior Princess, now a deadly immortal, getting the shock of her life when she sees a familiar face lost to her centuries before. Rickie Gardner is a young runaway used to surviving amidst the danger and cruelty of the streets but when she witnesses a murder she becomes a target in a way she's never been before. Her one hope of survival now rests in a tall, dark stranger whose presence somehow calls to her and whose face she sees in dreams. In these latest parts Xena's suspicions about her charge become stronger than ever as the attraction between them explodes into full-blown passion. Still unfinished this story just keeps getting better and better. Redhawk is adding a poignancy and fire to the evolving romance that makes it intriguing and beautiful and emotional all at once. The story is also making great use of flashbacks in much the same way the HIGHLANDER TV series used to. This is a MUST READ just as a XWP story but should be particularly entertaining for fans of both series. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

SPECIAL SECTION - STAR TREK VOYAGER ALTERNATIVE FAN FICTION

MORNING AFTER by G.L. Dartt
G.L. takes a break from her exceptional JUST BETWEEN series (see the special reports on VOYAGER alternative fan fiction for reviews of that series) to bring us an amusing, entertaining new take on the Janeway/Seven pairing which has the captain waking up after a night of rather excessive partying to find herself in a decidedly compromising position. This is as well-written as G.L.'s other VOYAGER efforts with that sense of humor that always add something special to her fiction. DO NOT MISS!!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
