XENA'S CHOICE by Lara Zielinsky
This EXCELLENT new story starts off immediately after the events in the episode SACRIFICE II, with a desolate Xena no longer caring whether she lives or dies, dispassionately doing Ares' bidding while forcing out of her thoughts any memory of the life she led during the past three years, of the hopes a young bard dared to inspire within her. Meanwhile, a confused Gabrielle finds herself traveling from one nightmare into another as the decision she made in Britannia once again leads to awful repercussions. Trapped in a very dark place, the bard must challenge the fiercest of opponents if she hopes to ever get out - an opponent that is once again ruthlessly living up to her reputation...as the Warrior Princess. This is an intensely psychological tale revolving around very well drawn portrayals of our two heroines. This heartwarming sequel to IN THE DARKNESS finds Xena still handicapped after the torture she recently experienced and a very determined bard stubbornly standing by her side. Hobbes has always excelled at depicting the deep friendship between these two women and she continues to do so, producing stories that never fail to tug those heart strings. DO NOT MISS!

Sweet story that has Gabrielle challenging the Warrior Princess to a little race and then unexpectedly winning...or perhaps not so unexpectedly ;-) Nice slice-of-life piece depicting a moment in a very special friendship.

HEART OF THE LION by Visitor
A wonderfully original piece that follows a group of Roman soldiers as they stalk their prey - not the lions they are used to hunting but human prey this time - an opponent well-known to their mighty emperor - an opponent who unbeknownst to the hunters is getting ready to make prey...out of them. Very well-written, different piece with a mystical quality to it. DO NOT MISS!

Assigned to investigate is Mariel Potidean, a brilliant young FBI agent who soon finds herself teamed with a mysterious and decidedly fascinating partner - an ex-cop by the name of Tina Amphipoli with a dangerous reputation, a mysterious past and electric blue eyes. This latest chapters is about reunions as Mariel and Tina both encounter figures from their past. L.N.'s newest delivers an engaging premise with two very strong heroines, lots of suspense, drama and some thoroughly engaging romantic sparks. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
