TUESDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 8/18/98
[Previous report was for 8/16/98]

Hi guys,

I've added a new section to the LUNACY FAN FICION REVIEWS page, this one listing the reviews available for XENA THE CONQUEROR stories. The Lunacy page is at: https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/index.html

Also, Catherine M. Wilson has opened a new fanfic site featuring her own works, including some early ones I'm reviewing below. Catherine's site is at: http://www.tsoft.com/~cmwilson/index.html

GENERAL FICTION:

STILL WATERS by Anne Taylor
Chapters 15-18 of this story are now available. Set some weeks after the events in BITTER SUITE, this story finds Xena and the bard on their way back into Amazon lands. Well aware of the greeting she's likely to get after her last visit there, Xena's plan is to simply accompany her partner to the surrounding forest and then head for Amphipolis. A frustrated Gabrielle nevertheless continues trying to convince her friend that they need to make things right with the Amazons. It is an argument which soon enough becomes a mute point when the two wander just a tad too far into that forest and the Warrior Princess gets a taste of what Amazon justice can be like. The little bard turned Queen then finds herself in the unlikely position of having to defend the ex-warlord who nearly killed her or risk loosing forever the best friend she treasures above all else. In light of third season events, the storyline is timely and fascinating. [Note: story includes some subtextual references]

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

FRAGMENTS by TZ
A delightful collection of story fragments that will have you grinning from ear to ear. In particular do not miss Xena and Gabrielle's first experience with Indian "culture" in BETWEEN THE COVERS and the sure-to-be-classic jingle Gab teaches the Amazons in THE DRINKING SONG. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! -- 6 pgs.

YES by Catherine M. Wilson
One of Catherine's earliest and most intense works, this is a vignette about passion to long denied crying to be acknowledged and shared. Very nicely written. DO NOT MISS. -- 2 pgs.

CHILD'S PLAY by Catherine M. Wilson
Yet another of Catherine's early pieces, this one set on an evening full of doubts as a troubled heart fears what it wants most of all. Poignant piece written in Catherine's uniquely passionate style. -- 2 pgs.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.

Happy reading!
