BLIND FAITH RESTORED by Zzelami
A *WONDERFUL* story by a very talented new addition to the ranks of XWP bards. This story takes a few liberties with the episode BLIND FAITH offering a somewhat different ending guaranteed to leave you with a HUGE grin on your face! Starting at the point in the episode just after Xena saves the bard from a fiery death, the story then follows the two as they try to deal with Xena's blindness and are spurred into some emotional confessions as a result. They soon find themselves giving in to feelings too long denied only circumstances create some unexpected... challenges ;-) This tale is a delightful mixture of romance and humor that is going to warm the old ticker even as it leaves your funny bone hurting! An absolute MUST READ! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

THE PELOPONNESIAN WAR - BOOK 2: POTEIDAIA UNDER SIEGE by Baermer
Parts 15-16 of Book 2 in Baermer's epic war saga are now available. Having decided to stand with the people of Poteidaia against the Athenian army, Xena and Gabrielle immediately become primary players as the warrior lends the Poteidaians her battle expertise and the bard works to rekindle in her people their sense of community and hope. Even as they try to help the beleaguered villagers, Xena and Gabrielle struggle also against personal challenges as they confront the bard's family for the first time since becoming a couple and begin to suspect that they may be pawns in a very dangerous battle between immortals. In these latest parts Xena and Gabrielle try to work out their differences and some surprises are revealed. This story is exceedingly well-written with an intriguing, well-structured plot, great characterizations and a romance as epic as the historic events being depicted. Note that this tale is available in both subtext-explicit and subtext-lite versions. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! First reviewed 8/8/97.

CAPTURED by Virginia Leonard
Chapter four of this story is now available. This tale has Xena and Gabrielle meeting up with an old friend of the Warrior Princess - a roguish thief with an eye for the ladies and a penchant for trouble. In this latest chapter we learn more about the history between warrior and thief. Well-written with some precious moments. Previously reviewed 6/9/97, 6/25/97 and 7/16/97.

WARLORD DAZE by Katrina
Chapter 6 of this story is now available. This is a somewhat different warlord/slave story that will likely get that pulse racing...fast ;-) With Xena back in warlord mode, a determined Gabrielle enlists the aid of friends to help her get back to the warrior's side. One slight glitch though - Xena doesn't seem to remember her so to stay near Gabrielle is going to have to convince the Warrior Princess that she's her personal slave...attentive in every way. In this latest chapter Gabrielle explains her recent actions. Well-written and very intriguing. Note: this story contains light S&M.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
