Interesting story which looks at the themes of redemption, revenge and accountability. With Gabrielle sick, Xena heads for a village to try to give the bard some rest, never suspecting that she will face a part of her past there...and be made to answer for it.

AS LONG AS SOMEONE REMEMBERS by Tim Wellman
Tim newest story is a very sweet, funny, nicely written tale that divides its time between Xena and Gabrielle in Ancient Greece and their spunky descendants, Mel and Janice in the 1940's. Hired by a certain well-known archeologist to retrieve more of Gabrielle's scrolls, Mel and Janice soon find themselves battling Nazis who desperately want the secret of the scrolls - a secret known to the Warrior Princess and her bard and which through the ages they'll find a way to share with two other kindred spirits. Note: this story is not explicit.

BEHIND COLD EYES by Warrior Rep
An action-packed and VERY passionate sequel to Warrior Rep's THE WRATH OF THE GODS (reviewed 6/9/97), this story has Xena and Gabrielle gaining an unlikely ally in the fight against Velaska - a proud warrior from the past who was once also a victim of the cold-hearted goddess. Stormy days will just NEVER be the same after reading this story! ;-) Very nice!

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
