FRIDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 9/12/97

Hey guys,

As fans of XWP and particularly as fans of the MARVELOUS fan fiction this show has generated, we have a very important milestone to celebrate this week. Yesterday Xenos announced at his Web site - the very popular and often used XWP FAN FICTION INDEX - that there are now **OVER 1000** works indexed at the site. I can well remember the days when we used to get no more than one or two new stories a week. Now we regularly get about 50 per week! Xenites are a very diverse group but through this TV series and through our love of good fan fiction we have definitely found common ground. We are a group that has produced some of the finest writers on the Net today and some of the finest fan fiction. RELUCTANT GODDESS by Titanium and Awatcher
Another great story from this successful writing team. Needing to strip Callisto and Velaska of their godhoods, the gods are faced with one little problem - although one of the godhoods can be dispersed into nature, another must be placed into a living vessel, in effect creating a new god. Soon the Olympians have made a decision as to who that living vessel will be. Suffice it to say - the life of a certain bard will never be the same again... This story is well-written with a very clever plot and some hilarious moments. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Chapter five of this story is now available. This tale has Xena and Gabrielle meeting up with an old friend of the Warrior Princess - a roguish thief with an eye for the ladies and a penchant for trouble. In this latest chapter Rooks puts into play her skills as a thief to help a friend. Well-written with some precious moments. Previously reviewed 6/9/97, 6/25/97 and 7/16/97.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
