TO REND ASUNDER by Daydreams
Set immediately after the events in MATERNAL INSTINCTS and before BITTER SUITE this vignette chronicles Xena's journey toward a snow-covered mountain where as she ascends to the top - her soul starts to sink into darkness. A good tie-in between the two episodes. - 1 pg.

BEYOND AND FOREVER by Pallas
Heart-WRENCHING does not even BEGIN to describe this superb new hurt/comfort story from a very talented writer who is establishing a reputation for dealing with both the joys and agonies relationships can bring. This latest tale exemplifies that as few others in Xena fanfic have done to date - depicting a love for the ages between two soulmates willing to battle anyone or anything to be together but ultimately vulnerable to the cruel realities of human frailty. It is a tale of two lovers preparing to say goodbye - and two hearts that never will. Stock up on the kleenex before tackling this one but by all means do tackle it. There's nothing better in fanfic than stories which elicit emotion and this one does it in droves! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 16 pgs.

MOUNTAIN QUEST by Eva Allen
An epic story of love and sacrifice that begins with a fateful meeting from which Gabrielle emerges a stranger. Desperate to get her beloved bard back and facing a deadly ultimatum, the Warrior Princess consults with an old friend and then begins a quest up a mountain with the stranger who was once her partner ready to face whatever evil awaits her for the sake of that partner. It is a journey that will test the love and courage of both women as soon enough the tables are turned and it is Gabrielle herself who must struggle to save her hero. Combining a very sweet romance with some good old-fashioned adventure, this is also in parts a marvelous hurt/comfort story. DO NOT MISS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 85 pgs.

OKTOBERFEST by Redhawk
Part three is now available. This sequel to Redhawk's fantastic HIGHLANDER/XWP crossover tale, ONLY ONE begins on a plane bound for Europe on the first leg of a vacation Xena hopes will further aid in the recuperation of her young lover Rickie Gardner. Still suffering from horrific nightmares, Rickie is nevertheless flourishing in the warrior's company - starting to remember a life from very long ago and looking forward to a second chance with her soulmate. Unbeknownst to them, however, others are watching and waiting...knowing the life of an immortal will not be peaceful for long. In this latest part Xena and Ricke attend the famous Passion Play at Oberammergau while an old acquaintance of the warrior's reappears and a deadly new presence notices the two lovers for the first time. Picking up where ONLY ONE left off, this story features a riveting, suspenseful plot and a strengthening of the Xena/Rickie connection. Definitely one for the MUST READ list. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Part 10 of this story is now available. This is hurt/comfort tale firmly rooted in the devotion warrior and bard have for one another. It begins with a desperate Gabrielle making an insane pact with the God of War so he'll cure a gravely ill Xena. Soon after the bard realizes that she may not be able to fulfill her part of the bargain but keeping Xena alive is one thing she is determined to do - even if she has to change the terms of that bargain...In this latest part Xena begins to lose hope as the bard grows worse. An engrossing love story that will keep you hitting that page-down key. DO NOT MISS!! -- 3 pgs.
