SATURDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 9/26/98

Hi guys,

First of all - MANY THANKS to everyone who sent me their notes of concern and support regarding Hurricane Georges. Fortunately Miami wasn't hit hard at all. We just ended up with some mild gusts and some rain and A LOT OF WORK - not the least of which was running around for a couple of hours prior to the storm trying to catch a couple of nervous felines I wanted to bring inside. One of the most annoying things about hurricanes is that even if you don't get hit hard you still spend hours before preparing for it and hours afterwards getting the house back in order ;-) Still, it's very important to prepare. People living in the Keys were hit hard and are now having to contend with the aftermath which isn't pretty. Even worse off are those poorer countries in the Caribbean were the hurricane not only did incredible damage but took a lot of lives too. My thoughts are with all of those who've been less lucky with regards to Georges and with those now in its path. If any Xenites out there live in the areas now under a hurricane watch or warning - please take it seriously and do what you can to protect yourselves, your family, your pets and your home. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.
