THE TRIAL OF XENA by Onora
Chapters 2-4 of this story are now available. This thought-provoking, poignant tale has Xena and Gabrielle spending time with Hercules and Iolus when Athenian soldiers arrive to at last bring the Warrior Princess to justice. It is a development that will test Xena's commitment to justice even as it tests her friends' desperate need to protect her. In these latest chapters, the warrior begins to pay for the sins of her past while old friends rally around her. Still unfinished, the story is well-written and very promising.

VENGEANCE by Tymedancer

THE PAPPAS JOURNAL by Elaine Sutherland
An exceptional, EXCEPTIONAL new entry in XWP fan fiction that is NOT TO BE MISSED! Written as a series of journal entries by Melinda Pappas, it covers a period of several months in the lives of Mel and Janice starting just after their discovery of Gabrielle's scrolls as depicted in the episode XENA SCROLLS. With World War II still raging around them, Mel and Janice take refuge in Athens where Mel's Uncle Stravos sets them up in a building he partly owns. The two begin work on deciphering the scrolls, reading about ancient battles even as they soon find themselves in the middle of a very modern one - the Nazi takeover of Athens. The experience will change them forever as they come face to face with the same type of evil their ancestors faced long ago - and discover in their hearts the same type of love as well... This story is going to remind you of a work of art. The technique used in telling the tale via journal entries is extremely effective. The characterizations are rich and the approach to the Mel/Janice relationship is very satisfying, showing it as a gradual development which progresses very naturally. As an added plus, depending on which Web browser you use, you may be able to view the REAL Greek letters which Elaine uses in parts of this story, adding tremendously to the general atmosphere of the work. This is a fantastic effort by an obviously talented new bard. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

LOVE NEVER FAILS by J. Covington
The second part of this follow-up to the JOINING trilogy (ARES' GAME, ESCAPADE, and SECRETS PAST - reviews all available at http://xenite.

This story finds Xena trying to help an old friend fight the raiders threatening her land while Gabrielle, in also trying to help that friend, falls victim to an injury that may forever change both her life and that of the Warrior Princess. In this second part of the tale, the two return to the Amazons for the bard's convalescence. It becomes an emotional, at times scary and even mischievously funny period of rediscovery for them. Nicely written, romantic and sweet. DO NOT MISS!!

JUSTICE by Tymedancer
The sequel to Tymedancer's VENGEANCE, this story easily maintains the excellence of that original effort as it traces Xena and Gabrielle's efforts to bring to justice the warlord who nearly destroyed them both. THE PELOPONNESIAN WAR - BOOK III: THE MYTILENE DEBATE by Baermer
Parts 40-41 in the series are now available (NOTE: Baermer has renumbered the various parts to the series) With the siege of Poteidaia now over Xena and Gabrielle face a new challenge - to try to locate a missing Ephiny last seen weeks before when she left the Amazon nation escorting a group of young Amazons to Sappho's school just outside the city of Mytilene. With news that the city is in revolt, the warrior and bard embark on a possible rescue mission with Solari and Epinon. It is a journey that will once again test them physically and emotionally as they struggle with the historic events unfolding around them and with serious issues still unresolved in their relationship. For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.
