JUST BE READY by IseQween
Set during the episode WHO'S GURKHAN, this is a thoughtful character piece that expands on the scene after Xena's beating when she's brought back to the harem into Gabrielle's waiting arms. Filled with conflicting emotions Gabrielle talks about her anger at the situation, guilt over Xena's predicament, and frustration at her partner taking things into her own hands. Initially trying to make light of the situation, the battered warrior eventually recognizes that excluding Gabrielle from her plans may not have been the best approach. IseQween addresses some very serious issues between the two here while highlighting as well the devotion and concern they share for one another. The story does a nice job of fleshing out the episode. - 6 pgs., 2/10/01

**JUST LOOK AT THEM by T. Novan
T. Novan takes a break from her popular RAISING MELOSA SERIES to share with us a lovely piece about that all-important first kiss set against the background of Amphipolis as warrior and bard visit a certain innkeeper that knows just what is best for her daughter. Heartwarming, feel-good story reminiscent of those earlier seasons. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs., 3/9/99

JUST ONE MORE MOMENT by Silk
A poignant look at the final moments of an extraordinary partnership just before it transcends into eternity. A kleenex alert on one very worthwhile read - DO NOT MISS! - 3 pgs., 10/31/98

JUST ONE NIGHT by Annmaray
This first time tale begins with the warrior on the wrong footing with her bard after a bout of jealousy leads the ex-warlord to behave more rudely than is even normal for her. A timely story, an unexpected storm, an overcrowded inn and one very helpful blacksmith all combine to ease the tension between the two companions, convincing them to open their hearts at last. Annmaray's latest is a nice little love fest in the finest tradition of those early Xena first timers. - 9 pgs., 7/26/99

JUST THE BEGINNING by Vertigo
Xena realizes she's been a bad girl when she accidentally destroys of her partner's scrolls so she sets out to keep the bard's mind off that scroll in a decidedly effective way. This story won an AMAZON ICE AWARD for a reason ;-) Fun summer reading :) - 6 pgs., 6/5/99

**JUSTICE by Tymedancer
The sequel to Tymedancer's VENGEANCE, this story easily maintains the excellence of that original effort as it traces Xena and Gabrielle's efforts to bring to justice the warlord who nearly destroyed them both. This time they are not alone, however. Another is also hunting the warlord - one who knows things about the Warrior Princess that even Gabrielle has never learned. This story features an awakening in the bard to possibilities she had never considered before and Xena's own acceptance of those possibilities. Do not miss the third entry in the series, MERCY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 25 pgs., 9/8/97
