On to other news, nearing the end of her LONG IS THE WAY series, de Bonheur now needs our help in deciding what her next story should be. POWER at last folks!!! >:) She is considering two different plots and would like for readers to let her know which they would prefer to see first. To read about the two plot possibilities, go to de Bonheur's new story AN UNFINISHED AFFAIR.

Then make sure to e-mail de Bonheur with your preference.

Here are tonight's reviews.

GENERAL FICTION:

A CROWN OF LAUREL by Silk
a very promising new story by a new writer which has Callisto orchestrating a devious trap for the Warrior Princess and bard - a trap which will lead them right into the hands of one of Xena's deadliest and oldest enemies. This story is set after the events in the episode THE DELIVERER. This is well written and intriguing.

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

CHILD OF LOVE by BlackFox
This sequel to the stories BONDED FOREVER? and THE WRATH OF APHRODITE is absolutely DELIGHTFUL - very possibly BlackFox's best work to date. Having struggled through a number of trials, Xena and Gabrielle are together at last and happy, although in recent days the bard has not been well, lacking her usual voracious appetite and often feeling nauseous. Soon they receive a visit from the mischievous goddess of love who has a little surprise for them! BlackFox depicts the Xena/Gab relationship beautifully in this story with lots of love and tenderness. CHILD OF LOVE also exudes a wonderful sense of family featuring most of Xena and Gabrielle's friends and relatives. This is the PERFECT story for those of you who've been feeling a bit depressed after the events in GABRIELLE'S HOPE. Nicely written, it is guaranteed to warm your heart. It is long and stands on its own although a familiarity with the first two stories will enhance the reading experience. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

SURFACING by Paul Seely and Jennifer Garza
Part 12 of this story is now available. A very well-written, original new uber-Xena tale that will have you spell-bound from chapter one. Set in the present day, it revolves around the mysterious activities of a secret agent going by the name of Diana Starret. On assignment from the shadowy, top-secret organization who once recruited her when she had little choice in the matter, Diana's mission is to keep a dangerous criminal from landing in prison until the full extent of his operation has been revealed. It is this assignment that leads her to a fateful meeting with a young lawyer named Charlotte Browning. The two women are inexplicably drawn to one another and soon find themselves haunted by the same dream - about a leather-clad warrior drowning in blood and the strawberry blonde trying to save her. This latest part is about choices as a trapped soul struggles to emerge from a mind too long held prisoner, a mother decides where she stands, and a young lawyer gets ready to fight for a love she's not willing to loose. As yet unfinished, this story is riveting. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

THE FIRST AND THE LAST by Unco
This is a beautiful, sensual vignette about that first time two souls share their vulnerabilities, giving in to the love between them completely. Very nice.

WINTER'S ENDING by Melissa Good
Part 4 of this story is now available. With Missy Good in our folds, Xenites have to simply be the LUCKIEST fans on the Net. As with all her novels to date, this EXCEPTIONAL new work is a sequel to what has gone before so if you haven't read Missy's previous novels treat yourself to the experience. In order they are A WARRIOR BY ANY OTHER NAME, AT A DISTANCE, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS and BOUND. Set after the events in BOUND, the beginning of this novel chronicles a quiet time in the lives of the Warrior Princess and her bard. Having faced adversity, struggled with old wounds from the past and deadly enemies in their present, having finally surrendered to the love which binds their minds, their hearts and souls as one, Xena and Gabrielle have settled in Amphipolis for the Winter. With a home of their own at long last, family surrounding them and a joining to look forward to, their happiness seems assured. The Winter is hard, however, and long and before it's over warrior and bard will once again face new challenges. In this latest part, Xena goes to help an old friend while Gabrielle's peaceful life at Amphipolis begins to change. Missy's depiction of the Xena/Gabrielle relationship remains second to none. In this story she continues the technique she started using in BOUND, offering flashbacks of past events in the lives of Xena and Gabrielle. These are often as emotional and captivating as the greater story, adding depth to the already outstanding characterizations. There is a warm, poignant beauty to Missy's writing that just dazzles the soul. I have no doubt that even people who have never seen XWP would be hooked if they read a Missy story. Sit back and enjoy folks because we have some wonderful weeks ahead of us as this story unfolds. As with everything to date that has come from the Good keyboard - it is NOT TO BE MISSED and gets my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! Note: This story is not explicit.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.

Happy reading!
