Some terrific new entries tonight and an update :)

GENERAL FICTION:

DISASTER AT STRYMAN PASS by Blind Faith
This bard's first fanfic effort is a solidly written hurt/comfort tales in the tradition of classics like ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT. Set after the events in the episode ONE AGAINST AN ARMY, the story has the warrior and bard on their way to Corinth and still recuperating from their confrontation with the Persians when disaster once again strikes, plunging them into a harrowing ordeal from which their only hope for survival will be one another and the fierce bond that has seen them through so much already. This is a story firmly rooted in the strength of a very extraordinary friendship. A terrific read that comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 15 pgs.

TIME SLIP by Bel-wah
Spooky little tale set in a dark forest that has the Warrior Princess and bard meeting a young woman desperate to see the love of her life and being kept from him by something very determined... and very inhuman. Good story for one of those rainy evenings ;-) - 10 pgs.

ALTERNATIVE FICTION:

BACK AND FORTH by T. Novan
A terrific little story that will just grab that old ticker in a very nice way as it traces the lives of a bard and one decidedly anxious warrior, chronicling all those unforgettable moments on their path toward eternity. A cleverly written, poignant read guaranteed to leave an impression. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs.

THE BROKEN BLADE: A TALE OF CAMELOT by Llachlan
Llachlan contributes a very promising new entry in the INFINITY SERIES as the immortal Xena tells her beloved Rickie about a time of knights and kings and chivalry and intrigue. With the teenager listening spellbound, the ancient warrior remembers the day centuries before when she found the bastard son of a medieval warlord and set out to turn that babe into the king legends had long ago foretold. Llachlan immediately captures here the sense of mystery usually associated with the origins of King Arthur. Moreover, careful attention is also paid to developing the Xena/Rickie relationship, imbuing it with a deep sense of love and tender passion. With a nice flashback to Xena and Rickie's first Solstice together - this is particularly timely story that will immediately grab your attention. One to look forward to in the weeks ahead. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [unfinished] - 8 pgs.

A FAMILY AFFAIR...CONTINUED by Georgia
Set just after the events in the episode A FAMILY AFFAIR, this cryptic new offering has Xena and Gabrielle explaining things to the bard's family and then desperately trying to rediscover one another again...only things may not be quite what they seem. Well-written tale offering some intriguing possibilities. DO NOT MISS! - 6 pgs.

OF DRAG KINGS AND A WARRIOR PRINCESS by Susan Smith
Chapters 11-12 are now available. This talented writer tries her hand at uber fiction this time around, producing a very different, very original contemporary story. Rosalind Olchawski considers herself a fairly ordinary college professor leading a fairly ordinary life - a life so ordinary and so bland, in fact, that recently Rosalind has started to wonder whether she's even capable of feeling that passion others seem to feel. It is a concern that is answered one evening when she accompanies a friend to a club and discovers in the startling blue eyes of a drag king the destiny she had been waiting for. In these latest Rosalind and Taryn learn more about one another. Very well written, with characterizations that are sensitively done and an intriguing storyline this one should keep you hitting that page down button. [unfinished] - 8 pgs.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.

Happy reading!
