WEDNESDAY FAN FICTION REPORT - 2/24/99
[Previous report was for 2/23/99]
Hi guys,
Four new ones and an update coming up :)
ALTERNATIVE FICTION
PLUG AND PLUNGE by Nit and Wit (aka TZ and Silk)
This new offering could have gone in the general fiction section. There really is NO reason why this couldn't have gone in the general fiction area. It's just an innocent little uber story about a master plumber and a client in need of her services. Still, knowing "Nit and Wit" all too well, there's just SOMETHING about this tale that got me suspicious so I thought I'd play it safe and include it under my alt. section. One cautionary note - for some reason that plumbing section of the hardware store is gonna seem much more...interesting after...er...plunging into this story A MUST READ likely to wet your appetite for some plumbing advice ;-) DO NOT MISS! - 9 pgs.

THE DEPTH OF LOVE by T. Novan
One of the most stirring entries yet in the RAISING MELOSA SERIES, this story has a devoted and broken-hearted Xena caring for her injured soulmate as friends and family offer support. A hurt/comfort piece guaranteed to tug at those old heart strings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 7 pgs.

TWELVE ANGRY GODS or TARTARUS ON 10 DINARS A DAY by Lyric
Adorable tale that has Charon bored with his usual routine ferrying souls across the Styx when a couple of familiar faces show up requesting his help in their efforts to keep some angry Olympians at bay. After four seasons of XWP, Xenites should particularly sympathize with the ferryman in this - great characterization in a decidedly fun offering. - 12 pgs.

THE BROKEN BLADE: A TALE OF CAMELOT by Llachlan
Part 4 is now available. Llachlan contributes a very promising new entry in the INFINITY SERIES as the immortal Xena tells her beloved Rickie about a time of knights and kings and chivalry and intrigue. With the teenager listening spellbound, the ancient warrior remembers the day centuries before when she found the bastard son of a medieval warlord and set out to turn that babe into the king legends had long ago foretold. In this latest part an exited Rickie begins college and continues re-writing history as she chronicles the story Xena has been telling her of the actual events leading to the rule of King Arthur. Llachlan immediately captures here the sense of mystery usually associated with the Arthurian legend. Careful attention is also paid to developing the Xena/Rickie relationship, imbuing it with a deep sense of love and a tender passion. A great read that comes VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [unfinished] - 8 pgs.
