**TREATY (THE) by B.L. Miller
A clever new offering from this talented writer finds Xena and Gabrielle back in Amazonia where the bard takes the reins as queen in the negotiations with neighboring villagers for some land both sides are claiming rights to. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with Gabrielle's handling of the matter and to change her mind they are willing to go to any lengths. Once again B.L. combines drama, suspense and humor into a story that is nicely written and thoroughly entertaining. I particularly enjoyed her characterization of Argo in this tale ;-) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 25 pgs., 11/11/97

**TROUBLE by Della Street
Dare I say it - but YES! - Another winner for Della! Excellent story that has Gabby going back home when she learns her mother is ill. While in Potidaea she discovers that an old nemesis of Xena and hers is back and plotting to join forces with another warlord to attack King Gregor, the monarch who adopted the baby in the episode CRADLE OF HOPE. The Warrior Princess and bard then set in motion a plan to try to stop the warlords - all the while trying to deal with the resentment Gabrielle's father feels for Xena and the frustration at not being able to openly show what they feel for one another. Sweet tale with lots of emotion. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 21 pgs., 5/24/97

Extremely well-written and edited, this unusual story features a somewhat chilling characterization of the Warrior Princess. Trapped in a cave after a landslide, Xena and Gabrielle struggle to find a way out but this is just the beginning of a greater struggle as events unleash a darkness that will test both them and the fragile new bond their souls form in that cave. Gabrielle's love and dedication in this tale are deeply moving. A MUST READ which has become a classic of XWP fan fiction! Make sure also to read the sequel THE CHILD. This story carries my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!! - 66 pgs., 1/97
