  Also - I've changed the BETA READERS DIRECTORY so that it now includes beta readers for STAR TREK fanfic - specifically VOYAGER fanfic but I'll list on there anyone who's willing to beta read fanfic for any of the Star Trek shows. The Xena beta readers all have a chakram icon by their information. The Star Trek beta readers have a Federation badge icon by theirs and if the volunteer will beta read both Xena and Star Trek fanfic they get the two icons.

  If anyone has written to me volunteering for the directory and has not heard back from me yet will you please resend your message. I believe I've answered all my recent correspondence about beta reading so if I haven't replied it means I've lost your message.

• BARD'S REFERENCE LIBRARY
  The library is expanding to include a new Audio-Visual wing with links to audio-visual resources. Two new sections have now opened:

  AUDIO RESOURCES - Features links to fanfic audio recordings and CD products. Many fanfic favorites are now available as audio titles from the sites listed here and more can be made available if the demand is there so guys...demand! >:)

  INDEX TO XWP MUSIC VIDEOS AND VIDEO PARODIES - Features links to sites that make available fan-produced music videos and parodies. Videos are organized by site and by title. Lots of FANTASTIC music videos are now online folks - they're big files but well-worth the download time. I suggest you take a look, THANK the very talented and generous Xenites who are making these available, and urge them to keep up the good work! - perhaps add some more fanfic inspired music videos in the future (HINT! :)

  Also, under the OTHER FANFIC AND WRITING RESOURCES ON THE NET section of the library I've added a link to a great site for writers called WRITER'S WRITE - THE WRITE RESOURCE. One of the finest resource Web sites for writers and would-be writers, this site makes available a monthly publication called THE INTERNET WRITING JOURNAL with articles on every facet of writing from the technical aspects to the creative ones, advice on getting published, legal issues, etc. The site also features author interviews, book reviews, best sellers lists and classified listings of jobs and opportunities for writers, editors, publishers and agents.

If you're interested in volunteering for that please read the file SUGGESTIONS FOR BETA READERS to get an idea of what's involved, then e-mail me with this information:

• SITE-WIDE CHANGES
  In an effort to have the Lunacy site more accurately reflect the trends in the various types of fanfic and original fiction reviewed here I've made a number of changes throughout the site. Just about every page has been slightly modified so I'm not going to list the changes - just know that you may notice changes in the wording here and there. The one major change I did make and that both users and webmasters who link to the site need to be aware of is that the XWP ALTERNATIVE, GENERAL and UBER-XENA indexes are now completely SEPARATE from one another. Stories listed in the Uber-Xena Reviews used to appear as well in either the Alternative or General Reviews. With a few exceptions, that is NO LONGER THE CASE. The alternative and general indexes will only list reviews of stories featuring the Ancient Greek Xena and Gab. If a story is uber-Xena (this includes Mel/Janice fanfic) its review will appear ONLY in the uber-Xena reviews index. The exceptions are stories which while having uber characters still revolve primarily around Xena and Gabrielle - those will also be listed in the regular Xena reviews indexes (alternative or general). I've made this change because as most of you have probably noticed we are seeing more and more Xena bards releasing stories that don't actually feature Xena characters or any references to the XWP TV show. In some cases these stories are identified by the bards themselves as uber-Xena stories. In other cases they're not. Of these types of stories I tend to review only those that recall for me the Xena characters or the Xena/Gab relationship BUT if an author does not identify a story as uber-Xena and that story does not directly reference the XWP TV show I will not be listing it under Xena alt. or Xena general fanfic. To avoid confusion I've therefore removed from the alternative and general Xena listings all the reviews for stories that are NOT about the characters in the TV show. Reviews for these stories are now listed under UBER-XENA AND ORIGINAL FICTION REVIEWS.

  I've also added a new index for reviews of MEL/JANICE FAN FICTION. Mel/Janice reviews continue to be listed with the uber-Xena ones as well but for easier access I thought fans of the spunky archeologist and that sultry Southern Belle might appreciate a separate index.

  IMPLICATIONS FOR WEBMASTERS: If you link to my site these changes will affect you only if you are linking to reviews of uber-Xena stories. If your link was to either the alternative or general files, it's likely your link is broken because the uber-Xena reviews are no longer included in those. You'll need to change the URL so that it points to the appropriate uber-Xena reviews file. The naming system I use typically is based on the first letter of the title so if you had a link to Nene Adam's story RESURRECTION AT REST when it was in the alternative files it would read like this:

  https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/altr_e.shtm.htm#Resurrection_At_Rest

  Since that's now only in the uber-Xena reviews you'll need to change it to:

  https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/uberr.shtm.htm#Resurrection_At_Rest

  Everything stays the same except the filename which will be uber, followed by the first letter of the story title, R in this case, followed by .shtm. Here it's uberr.shtm.

  In another example - links to Wishes' BATTLE should be changed from:

  https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/genb.shtm.htm#Battle

  to: https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/uberb.shtm.htm#Battle

  If you link only to reviews of regular Xena fiction featuring the original characters those links should continue to work fine. You don't need to change anything.

• EXPLANATORY NOTES PAGE
  I've revised this page to include a brief listing of the various indexes at this site with a short explanation of what type of reviews each index features.
• BARD'S REFERENCE LIBRARY
  The library's FANFIC AND WRITING RESOURCES section now includes a link to the SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY WRITERS OF AMERICA, INC. featuring a number of excellent articles including a very entertaining and useful guide to writing science fiction and fantasy called "On Thud And Blunder" by Poul Anderson. Many thanks to Xenite John for suggesting the link.
