  This is a new section featuring questions about fanfic and about this site that I tend to get asked most frequently via e-mail or that I've noticed come up again and again in the mailing lists and other discussion forums. If any reader feels some of the information may be incorrect, particularly anything pertaining to how other sites or fanfic endeavours are run, please let me know.

• ATTENTION WEBMASTERS - PLAGIARISM ALERT!   
  There is an individual going around submitting a story to Xena fanfic archives that contains scenes very blatantly plagiarized from previous Xena stories. The story is called THE STORM. It was originally submitted to one site with the author name Alexia Dawn. It was removed from that site when the webmaster was informed of the plagiarism. A week later it appeared at another site and again promptly removed from that site when the webmaster was alerted. The week after that it was at a third site which again removed it. Now it is up at a fourth site - this time under the name Ephiny using the e-mail address sxe_baby@yahoo.com. This story contains scenes stolen from at least two of a href="https://lunacyreviews.ausxip.com/BL_Miller.shtm.htm">B.L. Miller's stories, THE CABIN and THE SILENT BARD. The scenes were stolen word-for-word. Webmasters if you see this story submitted to your site or see any stories submitted by this individual I would strongly encourage you to refuse that submission. The individual was sent e-mail notifying her that the plagiarism had been discovered but apparently continues to try to get the story posted. The plot has Xena and Gabrielle going into a cave to escape a rainstorm and having sex. Readers if you notice the story at sites in the future please notify the webmaster of the plagiarism.

  Plagiarism has the potential of discouraging our bards and undermining the quality of Xena fanfic. Lets work to stop such efforts guys.

• MAIN PAGE
  I've redesigned the main page to incorporate a section for reviews of commercial fiction now that I seem to be expanding into that area.
• STRANGERS IN PARADISE REVIEWS
  I've created a page featuring my reviews of Terry Moore's splendid STRANGERS IN PARADISE comic book series. With past issues available as graphic novels and the story continuing in bi-monthly comics, SIP is a wonderful series featuring characters certain to appeal to any Xena aficionado. Make sure to check this one out if you haven't yet.
• UNFINISHED STORIES
  This is a new page on the site that will keep track of unfinished stories. The page lists the title, author, the date the story was first reviewed, date the review was last updated (and I do change reviews sometimes as stories progress), the most current installment available and will include the date the story is completed. Finished stories will remain on the page for a month. This page is a response to a number of requests I've gotten in the past for such a tracking service of incomplete stories. The individual story reviews have also been changed so that any review of an incomplete story now features a link at the end reading [unfinished] pointing to this UNFINISHED STORIES page. As always, ONLY stories I've reviewed are included. For the latest installments of stories I have not reviewed check the various XWP fanfic indexes.

• EXPLANATORY NOTES
  I have ammended this section to officially include a long-standing policy explaining that I will not feature reviews for ANY titles by "../authors" found to have plagiarized stories written by others. I urge other webmasters, indexers and reviewers to adopt a similar policy with regards to plagiarism. I also encourage webmasters to notify reviewers/indexers when there are instances of plagiarism so we do not inadvertently give publicity to these stories.
• NEW CATEGORY INDEX
  I've gone commercial guys! No - that doesn't mean you will have to buy my services from now on which would be outrageously expensive in any event >:-) I've just decided to add a new page to the site called REVIEWS OF COMMERCIAL FICTION. It will list reviews of commercial fiction I've enjoyed by Xenite bards who've entered the commercial arena. The novels listed so far are original works of fiction which I initially reviewed as uber stories. These stories are edited prior to publication and may contain differences from the web versions so I've altered the specific reviews on this new page accordingly to reflect the change in focus. This new index is brought to you as a service for readers to inform them of commercial titles I've liked by writers we've become familiar with through fanfic - and also as an effort to support our bards as they spread those wings! Note that only titles which can currently be ordered will be listed.

Let me add a personal comment here - for nearly four years now Xenite bards have been sharing with us INCREDIBLE stories for free AND they continue to do so. These are very talented folks who deserve to be recognized and rewarded for their work. With the Xena fanfic all we can really do as grateful readers is to thank them for the stories but with the original stories they are now starting to publish we can thank them in other ways too by helping to get the word out about these new writers, telling friends, posting recommendations in other fandoms and non-Xena mailing lists where people might be interested, urging local bookstores to carry the titles. A successful showing for these titles will ensure that we continue to see our bards getting the opportunity at publication and will no doubt encourage them to continue honing those storytelling skills with US as their VERY WILLING testing grounds :) LETS SUPPORT OUR BARDS!!
