BARD'S REFERENCE LIBRARY
The library's ARTICLES section now includes a link to a new WHOOSH article, a href="http://whoosh.org/issue40/pattee1.html">"HEROIC DEEDS AND MORAL DILEMMAS: READING ABOUT WOMEN BEFORE AND AFTER XENA" by Christine Pattee. This is a fascinating retrospective on the depiction of women in fiction through the years, the development of lesbian literature and the explosion in popularity of Xena-inspired fiction.
Also, the library has now opened a new X:WP FAN FICTION CONTESTS AND AUCTIONS section which will list any contests or fund raising auctions currently underway and will feature links to the site and stories while these remain available on the Web. First on the list is the a href="http://www.poky.net/xena/argo/contest_results.html">ARGO CONTEST now underway at the ARGO AND FRIENDS web site. Anyone holding a fanfic or fanfic-related contest or fund raising auction who would like it listed at the library e-mail me at lunacy@dc.seflin.org.
